Cooler Master presents two new cases: MasterBox 540 and MB600L V2

The two new cases from Cooler Master could not be more different. The MasterBox 540 is very flashy and is more aimed at the gamers among the users. Whereas the MB600L V2 wants to convince with a simple and elegant design.

Cooler Master – MasterBox 540

The MasterBox 540 comes with a volume of almost 52 liters and offers more space than the Cooler Master MB600L V2 with a volume of 37.68 liters, according to the target group of the case. The gamer feeling is provided by the RGB strip placed on the front, which can be controlled via the included ARGB controller. Due to its size, it has more space for graphics cards, two additional HDDs and coolers. The GPU can be a maximum length of 410 mm, up to 180 mm is provided for the PSU and 165 mm is provided for cooling.

In total, up to six fans can be installed in the MasterBox, depending on the size. A 120 mm fan in the rear is already included. The front holds either two 140 mm fans or three 120 mm fans. Additionally, two 120 mm or 140 mm fans can be installed under the lid. The MasterBox 540 can hold up to six hard drives, with one cage accommodating two 3.5 or 2.5-inch drives and up to four additional 2.5-inch SSDs can be integrated behind the motherboard.

The MasterBox 540’s lid is unusual; it can be easily removed after removing two screws behind the side panel. Cables and other components are thus much easier to reach and the installation of fans is greatly simplified. The ports are located at the top, where one USB 3.1 Type C, two USB 3.0, one HD audio and the control of the RGB lighting are available. Overall, the case comes to the dimensions of 499 × 209 × 498 mm (L x W x H) with a total weight of 5.53 kg.

Cooler Master – MB600L V2

The new Cooler Master MB600L V2 is very discreet and rather unobtrusive. In contrast to its predecessor the MB600L, you can hardly see any differences purely on the outside. However, the innovations are greater than expected, so a completely new case has been created here. The side air intakes have been enlarged and the options for installing fans have also been expanded. While only three fans could be installed in the previous model, it is now possible to integrate up to six fans. Apart from the already integrated 140 mm fan in the rear, the MB600L V2 is the same as the MasterBox 540 and offers the same fan options. In the previous version, only three fans could be installed here. .

The CPU cooler has less space in the Cooler Master MB600L V2, here only a height of 161 mm is provided, a maximum length of 160 mm is offered for the power supply and a maximum of 350 mm is available for the GPU. However, this is only possible if the fans behind the front are omitted, otherwise the length is only 325 mm. As with the MasterBox 540, there are two hard drive slots in the cage and two instead of four 2.5-inch HDDs can be used behind the motherboard.

In terms of ports, there are fewer available here than in the 540 case, here are only two USB 3.0 (USB 3.2 Gen 1) ports and an HD audio port. The new MB600L V2 comes to a dimension of 406 × 204 × 455 mm (L x W x H) and also brings 5.53 kg on the scale.

Availability and prices

Delivery dates for the two cases have not yet been announced by Cooler Master. In terms of price, the MasterBox 540 will be priced at around 110 euros and the MB600L V2 at around 65 euros.
