In a few days, on July 22, 2026, Samsung will officially unveil its new trio of foldable devices, along with the Galaxy Watch9 and Watch Ultra 2. Shortly before the Unpacked event, a nearly complete spec sheet for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 has surfaced—and it confirms what had already been hinted at for months: There are hardly any changes to the features.
New chip is the only notable change
According to a report by Winfuture, which has obtained a retailer’s spec sheet, Samsung is switching from the Exynos 2500 to the newer Exynos 2600, at least in Europe. Based on benchmark scores, this should give the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 about 28 percent more CPU performance than its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip 7. That’s the only tangible improvement listed in the entire spec sheet.
Camera, battery, and displays remain unchanged
For RAM and storage, Samsung continues to offer 12 GB of RAM and either 256 GB or 512 GB of flash storage. The camera setup also remains the same: a 50-MP main camera with image stabilization, a 12-MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 10-MP front camera. The battery capacity remains at 4,300 mAh. The only minor improvement is in weight: the device is expected to shed some weight, dropping from 188 to 180 grams.
As for the displays—a 6.9-inch, 120 Hz OLED main display and a 4.1-inch AMOLED external display—there are no differences on paper compared to last year’s model.
Despite No Major Changes: The Price Is Rising
Although there are hardly any technical changes, the price is expected to rise. The base model with 256 GB will reportedly cost 1,299 euros—100 euros more than the Galaxy Z Flip7 did at launch. For the top-of-the-line model with 512 GB of storage, the price is even rising by 180 euros to 1,499 euros.
Many potential buyers are likely to be skeptical about whether the mere processor upgrade justifies the price increase—especially since the previous model, the Galaxy Z Flip7, is now available for significantly less.
