Flash memory manufacturer BIWIN has reached an agreement with Acer and now offers memory branded with the Acer and Predator brands. The use of the brands is intended to leverage their recognition.
Predator branded memory
The Predator Apollo series is new and comes in a high-performance “cyberpunk” design. Lightning-fast solit-state drives and state-of-the-art memory modules are offered under the brand. The performance as well as the design is outstanding. With ultra-high frequency, ultra-low timing and overclocking features, no one should be dissatisfied. The memory modules in the series have the best components on board and are equipped with 10-layer PCBs. This is complemented by an aluminum body and 15 μm gold-plated contacts. The series offers RGB lighting that is compatible with the most popular motherboards and can be synchronized. Thus, eight independent lighting areas, more than 10 lighting effects and 16 million RGB color values can be displayed.
In addition to the Apollo series, a line of Predator Talos memory modules is also coming out. These feature eight-layer PCBs, very low timing, and a highly effective heatsink made of zinc alloy. This ensures better performance, optimal user experience and long life.
The Predator GM3500 is a PCIe 3.0 M.2 SSD and achieves read speeds of 3,400 MB/s and write speeds of 3,000 MB/s. Integrated Advanced LDPC (Low Density Parity Check) improves error correction with the powerful code algorithms.
Acer branded memory
The Acer-branded portfolio includes a range of M.2 SATA, M.2 PCIe NVMe and 2.5-inch SATA modules. Running as the entry-level is the 2.5-inch SA100 SSD, which is available in capacities ranging from 120GB to 1.92TB. The RE100 comes as 2.5-inch SATA and also as M.2 SATA. Capacities here range from 128 GB to 1 TB for the M.2 form factor, as well as 4 TB for SATA. The RE100 achieves a read speed of 560 MB/s and a write speed of 520 MB/s. This puts it close to the maximum speed of the SATA interface.
To maximize performance even further, there’s the FA100, which comes as an M.2 PCIe Gen3 NVMe drive with capacities ranging from 128GB to 2TB. It can reach speeds of up to 3,300 MB/s in read and up to 2,700 MB/s in write.
In addition, there is a DRAM module series from the Acer brand, which offers standard SO and UDIMM modules with speeds of 2666 MHz up to 3200 MHz as well as capacities of 4 GB up to 32 GB per module.
BIWIN also has something for high-performance enthusiasts under the Acer brand. With the HT100 module, the user gets a unique design and heatspreader. Speed rates here range from 2,666 MHz all the way up to 3,600 MHz and capacities range from 8 GB to 32 GB.
