Acer Chromebox CXI5 and Add-In-One 24 unveiled at CES 2023

Acer is expanding its ChromeOS lineup with two new products that they have now officially unveiled at CES 2023, the Acer Chromebox CXI5 and the Add-In-One 24. The former is a compact mini-PC, while the latter is an exciting AiO solution.

Acer is expanding its ChromeOS product line at CES 2023 with the new Acer Chromebox CXI5 and Chromebox Enterprise CXI5. It adds the Acer Add-In-One 24 as an all-in-one modular solution that can be configured with either the Acer Chromebox CXI5 or the Acer Chromebox Enterprise CXI5 and a 60.96 cm (24-inch) FHD docking monitor.

The Acer Chromebox CXI5 naturally relies on Google’s ChromeOS and should therefore be able to boot up particularly quickly and offer an additional level of security. Thanks to its compact design, the Chromebox offers maximum placement flexibility and can be mounted almost anywhere thanks to the VESA mount kit.

Equipped with up to a 12th generation Intel Core i7 processor, it offers high performance for everyday tasks. Designed to support business performance and efficiency, the Intel vPro platform provides additional hardware-based security for a layered level of protection and proven stability.

The Acer Chromebox Enterprise CXI5 also comes with the Chrome Enterprise Upgrade, which is said to provide additional quick and easy management tools, proactive security features and access to many key productivity applications. 24/7 IT support also ensures that IT can assist and perform regular security updates directly from the Google Admin Console.

As an eco-friendly addition, the Acer Chromebox Enterprise CXI5 offers several low-power modes and extra-efficient charging capabilities.

On top of that, there are plenty of convenient ports: Via four USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports and two USB 4 Gen 3 Type-C ports, numerous peripheral devices can be connected and at speeds of up to 40 GB/s.

Up to four external displays can be connected via USB-C and two HDMI 2.1 ports. In addition, Intel Wi-Fi 6E and RJ45 2.5G Gigabit Ethernet (2.5GbE) provide stable Internet and network connectivity.

Acer Add-In-One 24 as a smart AiO desktop solution

Also new is the Acer Add-In-One 24 all-in-one desktop solution, which features a modular design consisting of an Acer Chromebox CXI5 or Chromebox Enterprise CXI5 that fits into the dock on the back of the 23.61-cm (24-inch) FHD 1,080p monitor.

Modularity makes it easy to swap out the Chromeboxes used, for example, to repair or upgrade with new hardware. The 115-degree wide-angle 5 MP webcam, dual microphones, and dual 4-watt speakers are ideal for office work and meetings, and enable high-quality video conferencing.

Multiple AI noise reduction modes suppress background noise for clear audio quality. A hardware shutter to quickly cover the camera and provide more security is also offered by the webcam.

The monitor can be tilted between -5 and 25 degrees to find the optimal and preferred viewing position. In addition, there is an optional touch functionality of the IPS display, which has an anti-glare coating to prevent reflections.

To prevent tampering by unauthorized persons, the Acer Chromebox CXI5 and Acer Chromebox Enterprise CXI5 are firmly anchored to the back of the docking monitor with special screws.

Prices and Availability

The Acer Chromebox CXI5 is expected to launch in March 2023 and starts at a suggested retail price of €499. The Acer Add-In-One 24 is supposed to launch at the same time in March 2023, but the manufacturer does not mention any prices here yet.
