Acer has unveiled the extensive expansion of its sustainable Vero product line. In addition to the Aspire Vero and TravelMate Vero notebooks, the company also unveiled the Acer Veriton Vero mini-desktop and matching Acer Vero BR277 monitor, which are made largely from recycled plastic (PCR).
Acer Aspire Vero
In the case of the Acer Aspire Vero (AV15-51), the case is made of 30 percent PCR plastic, and the keycaps are even a full 50 percent. At the same time, Acer focuses on holistic sustainability with the notebook: The case is sealed with easily accessible and standardized screws, while the display is also 99 percent recyclable. In addition, the packaging is made of materials that are fully recyclable and can be converted into a practical notebook stand.
The Aspire Vero can also convince technically. Acer relies on current 11th generation Intel Core processors, Intel Iris Xe graphics units and a 39.6 cm (15.6 inch) Full HD IPS display. The notebook ships with Windows 11 out of the box and comes with Acer’s new VeroSense software, which makes it easy to optimize energy efficiency and battery life.
The Aspire Vero has all the important features, including WiFi 6, a USB Type C port, and two USB Type A ports. Acer TrueHarmony and Acer PurifiedVoice also enable particularly clear call quality during video conferences via AI noise reduction.
Acer TravelMate Vero
The Acer TravelMate Vero (TMV15-51) was developed especially for businesses and turns out just as sustainable as the Aspire Vero. Here, the manufacturer banned an Intel Core i7 processor, 16 GB of DDR4 RAM and up to 1 TB of mass storage. As part of the Acer Vero series, the TravelMate Vero is also made of PCR plastic, is particularly easy to repair or upgrade, and comes in 100 percent recyclable packaging.
A dedicated Trusted Platform Module (TPM) and Kensington lock reliably secure sensitive data of all kinds, while corporate IT can easily manage it. The security package is rounded off by the all-in-one security solution Acer ProShield Plus, which can also be used to encrypt and decrypt the TravelMate Vero as well as biometric verification via fingerprint or facial recognition. The notebook’s start logo can even be individualized and adapted to the logo of one’s own company.
Acer Vero BR277 Monitor
The 27-inch (68.58 cm) Acer Vero BR277 comes with a sustainable case made of 50 percent PCR plastic, and has also been certified by ENERGY STAR, TCO, and EPEAT as exceptionally eco-friendly. The monitor’s ComfyView panel is anti-reflective for comfortable working, flicker-free, and can be dimmed to just 15 percent brightness.
Additionally, the display is also particularly ergonomic thanks to Acer Ergostand and can be individually adjusted in height, tilted, swiveled and rotated to provide the perfect viewing angle. Meanwhile, Acer VisionCare reduces eye strain, while Acer BlueLightShield minimizes exposure to blue light.
Prices and Availability
The sustainable Acer Aspire Vero notebook is expected to be available in November 2021 at an MSRP starting at 799 EUR, while the Acer TravelMate Vero will launch in February 2022 at 899 EUR. The Acer Vero BR277 monitor is expected to be available in March 2022. The manufacturer has not named any prices here so far.
