Acer introduces new Predator series gaming notebooks and monitors

At the “next@acer” event, the manufacturer introduced new models of its Predator gaming notebooks and monitors. Among them, the Predator Helios 300 SpatialLabs Edition including stereoscopic 3D support, as well as the Predator Triton 300 SE and the Predator XB273K LV and Acer Nitro XV272U RV gaming monitors.

Acer Predator Helios 300 SpatialLabs Edition in detail

The hottest news in gaming here marks the Acer Predator Helios 300 SpatialLabs Edition, a powerful gaming notebook that enables stereoscopic 3D gaming. With the SpatialLabs TrueGame application, you can experience supported games in 3D mode on the device. And all this without special glasses.

In doing so, the notebook takes advantage of the depth information that developers integrate. For each of the more than 50 modern and classic game titles, a separate pre-configured profile will be available at launch, which ensures a realistic display.

The SpatialLabs experience is created by combining an eye-tracking solution, a stereoscopic 3D display and real-time rendering technologies.

Powerful technology

Technically, the Acer Predator Helios 300 SpatialLabs Edition relies on a 36.6 cm (15.6 inch) UHD 2D panel with a liquid crystal lenticular lens optically bonded to it. The innovative composite offers the ability to switch back and forth between 2D and stereoscopic 3D views.

In addition, the Helios 300 is equipped with 12th generation Intel Core i9 processors, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 laptop GPUs, up to 32GB of DDR5-4800 memory, and PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSDs RAID 0 storage. A dual-fan layout with a 5th-generation AeroBlade 3D fan is used for efficient cooling, while Acer’s Liquid Metal Thermal Paste and CoolBoost technology further aid cooling.

The notebook runs Windows 11 and features Intel Killer DoubleShot Pro and Wi-Fi 6E (E2600+1675i) as well as a variety of ports. Besides HDMI 2.1, 1x Thunderbolt 4 and two times USB 3.2 Gen2 are offered.

Acer Predator Triton 300 SE

Another innovation awaits you in the form of the slim gaming notebook Acer Predator Triton 300 SE (PT314-52s). It also relies on the latest 12th-generation Intel Core processors, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 laptop GPUs, and 16:10 OLED panel options.

Again, Acer AeroBlade 5th generation 3D fans, Vortex Flow technology and liquid metal thermal paste provide efficient cooling. The notebook supports lightning-fast wireless connectivity thanks to Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E AX1675i and is equipped with a host of connectivity options including Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1 and USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A.

Acer Predator XB273K LV UHD Gaming Monitor

For the powerful display, the manufacturer also offers the Acer Predator XB273K LV, the matching monitor including 4K resolution. The AMD FreeSync premium monitor features a 68.6 cm (27-inch) UHD (3,840 x 2,160) Agile-Splendor IPS panel with a refresh rate of 160 Hz and a gray-to-grey response time of up to 0.5 ms.

It is equipped with two HDMI 2.1 ports, which should also be interesting for owners of the PS5 and Xbox Series X to enable display in 4K with 120 FPS. In addition, there is a USB Type-C port and a KVM switch.

The monitor offers a high color accuracy of Delta E < 1 and is VESA DisplayHDR 600 and TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe certified. Thanks to the Acer Ergostand, the gaming monitor can be ideally adjusted to your own sitting position.

Acer Nitro XV272U RV Gaming Monitor

The second new gaming monitor in the bunch goes by the name of Acer Nitro XV272U RV, also comes in at a size of 27 inches. It offers a WQHD resolution (2,560 x 1,440), a refresh rate of 170 Hz (overclocked) and a response time of 1 ms (GtG). The panel is additionally anti-reflective for better legibility. It is VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified, and its Agile-Splendor IPS panel supports 95 percent of the DCI-P3 color space with a color accuracy of Delta E < 1.

Acer also promises to provide a noticeable reduction of light reflections on the display due to a new technology. The Acer Nitro XV272U RV gaming monitor supports AMD FreeSync Premium technology and is also TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe certified. It also offers the Acer Ergostand, of course.

Prices and Availability

The Predator Triton 300 SE (PT314-52s) marks the beginning, and is expected to be available in stores in June 2022 starting at an MSRP of 1,499. The Acer Predator Helios 300 SpatialLabs Edition (PH315-55s) is expected to follow in September at an MSRP starting at 3,299 euros.

Both gaming monitors are scheduled to launch in October 2022. The Predator XB273K LV is expected to be available at an MSRP of 849 Euros, while the Acer Nitro XV272U RV is priced at 399 Euros.
