Acer Nitro 5 with AMD Ryzen or Intel processor

The Acer Nitro 5 promises a new gaming experience with the latest AMD Ryzen 9 5000 HX processors or 11th generation Intel Core H35 processors and Nvidia GeForce GPU.

Acer Nitro 5 and AMD Ryzen

With a new AMD Ryzen 9 5000 HX processor and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 GPU, the Nitro 5 has decent performance and aims to impress pro gamers. The powerful components are supported by two slots for M.2 PCIe and/or SATA SSDs, which can hold up to 2 TB of storage. The working memory with up to 32 GB RAM as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Killer E2600 support then bring everything needed for gameplay.

You can choose between two screen options, the Nitro 5 is available with 15.6 inches (39.6 cm) or as a 17.3 inch (43.9 cm). Either a Full HD IPS display with 144 or 360 Hz refresh rate or a high-resolution QHD IPS display with 165 Hz is installed. The response time of 3 ms ensures an exact display and smooth playback performance in all variants. Thanks to the 300 nits bright display and the up to 100% coverage of the sRGB color space, the colors look bright and real. The screen-to-body ratio is 80 percent thanks to the narrow display bezel of just 7.02 mm and thus offers the best view of the Nitro 5’s screen.

Adequate cooling is provided by four strategically placed exhaust fans, two fans, and Acer’s CoolBoost technology. The CoolBoost technology monitors the fan speed for the Nitro 5 and adjusts it to the performance as needed. The user can also monitor the system in real time via the NitroSense app and make adjustments here. So you always have full control over the thermal management.

Acer Nitro 5 and Intel

The Acer Nitro 5 with 11th generation Intel Core H35 processor and Nvidia GeForce GTX graphics has up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM, making it best suited for the hobbyist gamer. Like the AMD variant, it also has two slots for ample memory. The Intel version’s thermal management can also be controlled via the NitroSense app. Apart from the price, the Acer Nitro 5 with Intel processor has the same equipment features as the AMD version.

Availability and prices

The Nitro 5 with AMD Ryzen processor as a 15.6-inch variant (AN515-45) should be in stores from May 2021 at a price starting at 899 euros. The 17.3-inch version (AN517-41) will probably be available as early as April 2021 at a price of 999 Euros. You have to dig a bit deeper into your pocket for the Intel processors in the Nitro 5. Both sizes will be available in stores from April 2021. The price for the 15.6-inch variant (AN515-56) starts at 999 Euros and at 1,099 Euros for the 17.3-inch model (AN517-53).
