Acer presents ConceptD 7 SpatialLabs Edition and ConceptD 3 series

The newly introduced notebooks of Acer’s Concept-D series are especially aimed at developers of 3D content and enable a display in stereoscopic 3D, completely without special glasses. This is made possible by Acer’s SpatialLabs technology, a software that uses intelligent display and sensor technology to create realistic real-time renderings in stereoscopic 3D.

ConceptD 7 SpatialLabs Edition: Powerful Hardware

Generating real-time 3D renderings requires enormous computing power. For this reason, the ConceptD 7 SpatialLabs Edition features exceptionally powerful components such as an 11th-generation Intel Core i7 processor, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 GPU, up to 64 GB of DDR4 memory, and up to 2 TB of NVMe PCIe SSD storage.

A PANTONE-validated 4K UHD display shines with numerous color technologies, 100% Adobe color space coverage, and Delta E<2 color accuracy. The SpatialLabs 3D software is also exciting.

It works with a combination of eye-tracking, stereoscopic 3D and real-time rendering technologies. A set of three cameras is attached to the upper edge of the display frame, which track the position and movement of the user’s head and eyes. A separate image is created for each eye: Each of the two images is projected through an optical lens and refracted onto the other eye.

Thanks to real-time rendering, this process starts anew each time the viewer moves his head. The image always adapts to the user’s viewing angle. In addition, the notebook can also convert standard 2D content into stereoscopic 3D via AI.

SpatialLabs allows designers to bring their projects to life in real time. The software supports all popular 3D file formats, so developers and designers can easily view all their models in SpatialLabs ModelViewer. There, they can also adjust lighting, textures and HDRI backgrounds to find the ideal presentation setting.

New Acer ConceptD 3 Ezel Models Unveiled

Acer is simultaneously expanding its ConceptD 3 series with several new models: a new clamshell variant with a 40.64 cm (16 inch) display and a convenient 16:10 aspect ratio, as well as a 39.6 cm (15.6 inch) convertible model including a Wacom EMR pen, complete the lineup.

In addition, the ConceptD 3 Pro and ConceptD 3 Ezel Pro models also receive a hardware update and will be available with an Intel Core i7 processor and one of three graphics options up to an NVIDIA T1200 GPU in the future.

All ConceptD 3 Series notebooks are coated with a Micro-Arc Oxidation (MOA) coating to ensure the minimalist white magnesium case is resistant to dirt and abrasion.2 A PANTONE-validated display with Delta E<2 color accuracy ensures that even the finest details are displayed as faithfully as possible.

Prices and Availability

The Acer ConceptD 7 SpatialLabs Edition is expected to be available in Q1 2022, while all models in the ConceptD 3 lineup will launch in Q4 2021; Acer has not yet announced pricing.
