Acer has unveiled the Sospiro A15, a new Android smartphone for the entry-level segment. Its most striking feature is an additional display on the back, which is rather unusual in this price range.
Second Display as a Unique Selling Point
On the back of the Sospiro A15 is a 1.88-inch TFT display with a resolution of 240 x 284 pixels. It displays notifications, allows you to control music playback, and serves as a viewfinder for the rear camera when taking selfies with the main sensor. The front features a significantly larger 6.67-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz—which is pleasantly high for this price range.
Entry-level hardware without 5G
The Sospiro A15 is powered by the Unisoc T615, an entry-level chipset without 5G support. It’s paired with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded by up to 1 TB via a microSD card. For the cameras, Acer has opted for a 64-MP main camera and a 16-MP front-facing camera. The 5,000-mAh battery charges via USB-C at up to 18 watts, and the device runs on Android 16.
Solid specs for the budget segment
The features are rounded out by NFC, a 3.5-mm headphone jack, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and IP64 certification for dust and splash resistance. At 8.35 millimeters thick and weighing 206 grams, the smartphone remains relatively compact. It is available in orange and blue.
Initially Only for Latin America
The Acer Sospiro A15 is initially aimed at the Latin American market. Specific pricing details are not yet available, and a launch in Germany is considered rather unlikely. Anyone looking for a smartphone with a secondary display available in this country will likely find what they’re looking for in the rugged segment, such as the FOSSiBOT S3 or the Doogee S119, both of which follow a similar concept.
