Acer TravelMate P2: Business notebook gets more performance in model year 2023
Manufacturer Acer has just unveiled a whole range of new products, including even a smart e-bike with the ebii. The TravelMate business notebook series also gets an update for model year 2023. For example, new CPUs and a dedicated GPU are used in the Acer TravelMate P2.
The Acer TravelMate P2 in detail
The new Acer TravelMate P2 comes either as a 14 or 16 incher and relies on the latest 13th generation Intel Core processors. Despite the compact design, both models come with a dedicated GPU in the form of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050, which is quite remarkable for such a slim notebook.
Both models now rely on the popular 16:10 format for the display, which is an IPS panel with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels. While the P2 14 is of course primarily designed for mobile use and features an enlarged touchpad, the P2 16 offers a keyboard including a number pad and a touchpad that is shifted slightly to the left, which should improve the usability.
Both models are equipped with the latest Wi-Fi 6E standard, and LTE is also available on request. There is also hardly anything left to be desired in terms of connectivity: RJ45 LAN, Thunderbolt 4 (even if only one port), HDMI and SD card reader on the front are available, among others. It is a bit of a shame that Acer does not use the space in the 16-incher to install more ports.
Also new is Acer’s Light Sensing technology, which uses a sensor to measure brightness and color temperature in the environment and adjusts the image accordingly to ensure the best possible picture at all times.
Prices and Availability
The Acer TravelMate P2 business notebook is expected to find its way into stores in June 2023. It starts at a recommended retail price of 999 euros for the Acer Travelmate P2 14 (TMP214-55), while the P2 16 (TMP216-51) is to start at 1,049 euros.
