Acer Vero: New sustainable notebooks, AIO, monitors and peripherals

In many sectors of the economy, there is now a trend toward more sustainable production for the sake of the environment. This has also been common practice in the consumer electronics sector for quite some time. Almost every manufacturer now offers a sustainable series, if not the entire production has been given a green coat of paint. Acer has presented its latest in-house products from sustainable production with its Vero series today. Not only notebooks are included, but also all-in-one PCs, monitors, projectors and matching peripherals. It is not only important for Acer to use recycled materials, but also a certain longevity. The latter is to be achieved with a high build quality, but also maintenance-friendly design.

Aspire Vero laptops

Acer’s Vero series gets growth in the form of two new notebooks. Thus, the new Aspire Vero comes in a 14-inch as well as a 15-inch version. In terms of environmental friendliness, the manufacturer refers to the known advantages of the predecessors. Primarily recycled plastic is used, especially for the display bezel, but also for the keycaps. Sustainability is ensured by a maintenance hatch on the bottom of the device, which allows access to the interior after removing a few screws. Hardware upgrades as well as cleaning the notebook can be carried out here.

So far, so familiar. More exciting, however, are the performance upgrades that Acer has given its notebooks. The Aspire Vero 14 is powered by a 12th generation Intel Core processor. The Intel Iris Xe graphics unit provides graphics performance. The connectivity is also impressive. Besides WiFi 6, you also get various ports, such as Thunderbolt 4 (in combination with USB-C) and two USB-A (3.2 Gen1). Conveniently, the ports also directly offer a certain output power, which is why you can comfortably charge your smartphone or other devices. The big brother in the form of the Acer Aspire Vero 15 also comes with an FHD display and a 12th generation Intel Core processor.

The two devices also agree when it comes to ports. Besides Thunderbolt 4, there are also two USB-A ports (3.2 Gen1) here. Thanks to an integrated webcam that resolves in Full HD, both notebooks are perfectly suited for video conferences. These can also take place on the go without any problems due to the promised long battery life. The use of recycled material is also reflected in the trackpad. Here, Acer relies on marine plastic and promises a glass-like feel during use. Both new additions are still a bit of a wait. Thus, Acer has announced both the Acer Aspire Vero 14 and the 15 for the third quarter of 2022. MSRP is expected to start at 799 euros for the 14-incher and 999 euros for the 15-incher.

Acer Veriton Vero All-In-One

The fact that more and more people work in a home office is made clear by the resurgent market of all-in-one PCs. If you couldn’t get past the iMac for years if you wanted a PC in monitor format, Windows devices are now also upgrading properly. Accordingly, Acer makes its contribution with the Veriton Vero All-In-One. The eco-friendly PC comes with a 24-inch FHD display that has an IPS panel. Thus, it at least matches Apple’s biggest competition in terms of size. Acer also relies on recycled materials for the Veriton Vero All-In-One. This not only applies to the case, but also the included peripherals in the form of a mouse and keyboard.

Like the Vero notebooks, the All-In-One PC is said to have a handy maintenance hatch that allows hardware upgrades and repairs. Let’s get to the inner values. An Intel Core i9 processor of the 12th generation is at work here. A GeForce MX550 graphics processor from Nvidia is supposed to provide graphics power. The CPU is supported by up to 64 GB of RAM. WiFi 6e is the most modern WiFi standard. The variety of interfaces is also impressive.

Besides three USB-A ports, there are also USB-C ports as well as an HDMI port. Up to two SSDs in M.2 format can be installed in the case of the all-in-one PC, which then offers up to 2 TB of storage space. The webcam design is really cool. It can easily be folded out when needed and also offers Windows Hello for data security fans. Acer definitely has a hot iron in the fire with the Veriton Vero All-In-One. When the computer is launched in the third quarter of 2022, it will be exciting to see how it can hold its own against the competition. With an MSRP starting at 919 Euros, it is definitely significantly cheaper than Apple’s all-in-one counterpart.

Vero monitors

The new Vero lineup still includes two new monitors. The Acer CB273 and Acer B247Y offer an IPS panel and rely on FHD resolution. Besides the Vero-typical choice of environmentally friendly recycled materials, the two 23.8-inch devices also score with important features that a modern office monitor needs.

The somewhat better equipped monitor of the two newcomers is the Acer CB273. Finally, it should not only score with a great color reproduction (Delta E<1), but also with the popular feature of a KVM switch. The latter makes it possible to connect several source devices at the same time without having to change the peripherals.

Thus, one mouse and one keyboard is enough to control multiple computers. In addition, the USB-C port of the CB273 offers an output power of up to 90 watts, which is why it is best suited for connecting a notebook. After all, it can charge it simultaneously. Both Vero monitors are scheduled for launch in the third quarter of 2022. While the Acer Vero CB273 is to go on sale at an MSRP of 399 euros, Acer wants to call an MSRP of 269 euros for the Vero B27Y G.

Vero PD2325W projector

In order to give the next presentation an ecological touch, Acer wants to add a projector to its Vero series. The Acer Vero PD2325W is not only supposed to be made of recycled plastic, but also feature high energy efficiency on top of that. Acer promises that the LED light in particular should waste about 50 percent less energy than comparable projectors.

Thanks to an LED lifespan of up to 30,000 hours, it should consequently only end after just under four years of permanent glow. But the projector doesn’t only seem to be environmentally friendly. On top of that, the other technical details are also convincing. The contrast of 2,000,000:1 and up to 2,200 lumens of brightness speak for themselves. The WXGA resolution should also be sufficient for common screen sizes. The Acer Vero PD2325W is also scheduled to go on sale in the third quarter. Acer puts the MSRP at 549 euros.

Vero mouse and keyboard

By the way, the matching peripherals are also part of the package. The Vero series is supposed to come with a mouse and keyboard. Again, the use of recycled plastic and a sustainable, because durable, design is in the foreground.

You can buy the Vero mouse (MSRP: 24.90 euros) either individually or in a set with the Vero keyboard (MSRP for combo: 69.90 euros) from the fourth quarter of 2022.
