In the run-up to CES 2022, which starts in Las Vegas at the beginning of January, Adata has shown an exciting concept study of a gaming mouse. The Adata XPG Vault is aimed at gamers and is equipped with a 1 terabyte flash memory.
Adata XPG Vault: gaming mouse with internal memory
Thanks to up to one terabyte of NAND flash memory, the Adata XPG Vault allows you to easily carry your game collection directly on the nager for quick transfer from one PC to another.
The gaming mouse connects via USB Type-C, while the game files or stored content can then be transferred at a speed of 985 MB/s. Thus, the speed is most similar to an SD Express or microSD Express memory card with a PCIe Gen3 lane.
The internal memory of the Adata XPG Vault is supposed to be managed and used comfortably with the help of a specially developed software. Whether the XPG Vault will actually make it into mass production or whether it will remain a concept remains to be seen.
Sony showed a similar concept 20 years ago
Sony already relied on a very similar concept about 20 years ago. In 2000, the Japanese presented the MSAC-US5, which was able to take the specially developed memory cards called Memory Stick and use them as internal memory.
However, according to the technology at that time, the storage capacity and speed were significantly below the values that the Adata XPG Vault aims to realize.
The XPG Vault mouse is just one of many new products that Adata will introduce at CES 2022. In addition to a new DDR5 RAM, two new PCIe Gen 5 SSDs, new AiO coolers, a power supply and more will be revealed.
