AGON by AOC G4 series: 260 Hz gaming monitors now at an entry-level price

With the expansion of the G4 series, AGON by AOC brings 260 Hz gaming monitors to a price level that was previously reserved for classic 144 or 165 Hz models. The new 24G4ZR and 27G4ZR models rely on Fast-IPS technology, overclockable 260 Hz and extremely short response times. This brings e-sports performance to the entry-level class – without compromising on picture quality and features.

  • 260 Hz (240 Hz native) with 0.3 ms MPRT and up to 1 ms GtG
  • Fast IPS panels with high color space coverage (up to 121.5 % sRGB)
  • Adaptive-Sync and official NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility
  • Entry-level prices from 149 euros (RRP, depending on model)

260 Hz for the AGON by AOC G4 series: e-sports speed becomes affordable

High refresh rates have long been a feature of high-priced e-sports displays. With the AOC GAMING 24G4ZR (23.8-inch) and 27G4ZR (27-inch) models, this limit has shifted significantly. Both monitors work natively at 240 Hz – the established standard in competitive gaming – and can be easily overclocked to 260 Hz via OSD or G-Menu software.

In combination with response times of up to 1 ms (GtG) and an MPRT of 0.3 ms, motion blur is effectively reduced. Especially in fast-paced shooters such as Counter-Strike 2, Valorant or Rainbow Six Siege, every millisecond can be crucial. The setup is complemented by Adaptive Sync and official NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility, which minimizes tearing and judder at variable frame rates.

MBR Sync is a technical highlight. This function allows the simultaneous use of variable refresh rate and backlight strobe technology. This means that movements remain sharp and clear across a wide frequency range of 48 to 260 Hz – a feature that was previously usually reserved for much more expensive monitors.

Fast IPS with strong colors and sophisticated ergonomics

Despite the clear focus on speed, AGON by AOC does not compromise on image quality. The Fast IPS panels offer stable 178° viewing angles and a brightness of 300 cd/m². The 27-inch model covers 121.5 % of the sRGB and 92.3 % of the DCI-P3 color space, while the 23.8-inch version achieves 111.7 % sRGB and 87.7 % DCI-P3. This makes the displays suitable not only for gaming, but also for content consumption and creative applications in everyday life.

The 24G4ZR and 27G4ZR are also flexible when it comes to ergonomics: height adjustment by 130 mm, tilt (-3°/21°), swivel (±28°) and pivot function (±90°) allow for individual adjustment. The flat, e-sports-inspired stand saves space on the desk and supports multi-monitor setups thanks to its three-sided frameless design. VESA 100×100 compatibility allows alternative mounting on monitor arms or wall brackets.

Other features include two HDMI 2.0 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4 and features such as Flicker-Free and Low Blue Light to reduce eye strain during long sessions. If you can do without extensive ergonomics, the 24G4ZRE and 27G4ZRE models offer technically identical panel performance with a tiltable stand at even lower prices.

Conclusion

With the expansion of the AGON by AOC G4 series, 260 Hz is finally suitable for the masses in the Full HD segment. Fast response times, Fast-IPS with high color gamut coverage and solid features make the new models attractive options in the entry-level and mid-range segment. The monitors will be available from February 2026, with an RRP starting at 149 euros for the ZRE variant and up to 199 euros for the 27G4ZR model.
