The Alienware AW3423DWF shows off
On a screen diagonal of 34 inches (86.82 cm), the new Alienware AW3423DWF gaming monitor realizes a resolution of 3,440 x 1,440 pixels at a maximum refresh rate of 165 Hz. AMD FreeSync Premium Pro is used for synchronizing the frame rate. The display is curved in a radius of 1,800R.
Thanks to the QD OLED panel in 21:9 format, the monitor reaches a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and covers the DCI-P3 color space by 99.9%. With a color fidelity of Delta E<2, it is also ideally equipped for professional image and video editing.
It also has VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification and a response time of just 0.1 ms (gray to gray). The contrast ratio is an outstanding 1,000,000:1.
Ergonomics and connections
In terms of ergonomics, the Alienware AW3423DWF, which weighs around 6.27 kg, is also well positioned. It is adjustable in height by 110 mm, can be tilted between -5 degrees and 21 degrees, and can be tilted between -20 degrees and 20 degrees.
Of course, there’s also AlienFX RGB lighting, which is customizable in three zones, as well as various presets in the OSD for different gaming genres, Creator, and more. Switching between the different picture modes is done via a new OSD joystick.
The monitor is connected via HDMI (unfortunately only in version 2.0), as well as via two DisplayPort 1.4 ports. In addition, there are five USB 3.2 Gen 1 with 5 GB/s, one audio line-out, one 3.5 mm jack for headphones and a Kensington Lock port.
Price and Availability
The Alienware AW3423DWF curved gaming monitor is scheduled to go on sale in the fall of 2022. So far, the manufacturer only named the US price, here the MSRP is $1,099.99. Details about the launch and price for Europe are still pending.
