Alienware AW920K and AW420K: New gaming keyboards with RGB lighting

Just in time for the release of the new gaming notebooks, Alienware also launches a whole range of new peripherals. Among them are the two gaming keyboards Alienware AW920K and Alienware AW420K.

Alienware AW920K in detail

The Alienware AW920K is a wireless gaming keyboard with a full-size layout, i.e. including a number pad, which primarily impresses with its tri-mode connectivity.

This means that the keyboard can be connected in three different ways: Either via USB-C dongle, via Bluetooth version 5.1 or wired with the detachable USB cable.

Thus, it should also be able to be used with smartphones and tablets, as well as with the current consoles via cable.

Otherwise, the AW920K features high-quality Cherry MX Red switches, durable double-shot PBT keycap and AlienFX RGB lighting. Battery life is said to be up to 42 hours via 2.4 GHz wireless, with up to 46 hours possible via Bluetooth.

On the top right, you’ll find a programmable toggle switch and knobs that you can freely customize via the Alienware Command Center. The Alienware AW920K is available in black and white.

Alienware AW420K in compact TKL form factor

The Alienware AW420K keyboard, which relies on a TKL form factor and accordingly does without the number pad, is considerably more compact. However, it can only be used with a connected cable.

It also has AlienFX RGB lighting and programmable mechanical switches. In the US, the keyboard has already been available in black since last fall and is now being relaunched in white (Lunar Light). With this, however, it is now to come to Germany and Europe as well.

Prices and Availability

The Alienware AW920K gaming keyboard is also scheduled to launch in Germany before the end of May 2023, while the AW420K in white is available now, at least in the US. According to the manufacturer, the prices are $289.99 for the AW920K and $159.99 for the more compact AW420K.
