Alienware has revamped its notebook portfolio for CES 2022 and also presents numerous new peripherals. With Concept Nyx, the company also provides a glimpse into the future of gaming. Here are all Alienware CES 2022 highlights at a glance.
Alienware x14, x15 R2 and x17 R2: For maximum mobility
Alienware has given the gaming notebooks of its X and M series extensive upgrades. Both series meet very different needs for different types of gamers. The X-series devices focus on maximum mobility.
With the new Alienware x14, the gaming specialist offers its thinnest notebook to date. This is made possible by an innovative hinge design. Nevertheless, there is high-performance hardware under the hood.
The “Alienware Cyro-Tech Cooling” technology is supposed to keep the notebook cool even in permanent use. A large battery provides a runtime of more than 11 hours in HD video rendering. The latest Intel Core H-series CPUs of the 12th generation are also on board. Intel Arc or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 laptop GPUs are available as graphics cards.
In addition, the Alienware x14 supports NVIDIA’s Advanced Optimus and G-SYNC technologies. This allows it to further optimize its battery life even during the most intense gaming sessions.
The Alienware x15 R2 and Alienware x17 R2 combine this maximum mobility with an even larger display. Both notebooks now offer a completely new set of graphics options from NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX-30 series. They are joined by 12th-generation Intel Core CPUs and DDR5 memory with speeds of up to 6,400 MHz.
Alienware m17 R5, m15 R5 for maximum performance
Maximum performance in a gaming notebook, on the other hand, is offered by the Alienware m17 R5. Here, the manufacturer relies on AMD’s expertise. AMD Ryzen 6000 CPUs and AMD Radeon RX GPUs are installed, which also benefit from the AMD Free Sync Premium, AMD SmartShift MAX and AMD Smart Access Memory technologies.
Alienware’s Cyro-Tech Cooling technology also ensures optimal cooling of the components. Among other things, it ensures consistent top performance even during the longest gaming marathons with a cooling via vapor chamber.
With the Alienware m15 R7, the manufacturer also has a mid-sized gaming notebook on offer. The 15-incher can either be equipped with an AMD Ryzen CPU or with 12th generation Intel Core H-series CPUs, which now support the latest GeForce RTX-30 series graphics cards from NVIDIA.
Common to all new Alienware notebooks are Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. The former provides intense brightness, vibrant colors, sharp contrasts and great detail, while Dolby Atmos enables 3D surround sound while gaming.
Alienware AW3423DW: World’s first Quantum Dot OLED gaming monitor
The 34-inch Alienware AW3423DW marks the world’s first Quantum Dot OLED gaming monitor and has already won the CES Innovation Award. The monitor combines the high image quality of OLED with Quantum Dot technology to ensure vivid, lifelike colors, great color uniformity, wide color coverage and intense brightness.
Alienware AW920H: Tri-Mode Wireless Gaming Headset
Also winning the CES Innovation Award was the new Alienware Tri-Mode Wireless Gaming Headset (AW920H). It comes in Alienware’s Legend 2.0 design and represents the manufacturer’s most comfortable headset to date with a particularly slim silhouette, a faux leather cover and soft ear cups.
Features include active noise cancellation (ANC), multi-dimensional audio, integrated touch controls and versatile connectivity. This makes the AW920H suitable not only for PC and mobile gaming, but also for music and entertainment.
There’s also an exciting Alienware Tri-Mode Wireless Gaming Mouse (AW720M) that weighs in at just 89 grams and scores with a resolution of 26,000 DPI. Also exciting are the slim design and the 3D-molded ambidextrous thumb keys, which are supposed to provide superior precision in combination with the magnetic key plates.
Alienware Concept Nyx
On the occasion of CES 2022, Alienware also provides a glimpse into a spectacular current project of Alienware Labs. Under the name Concept Nyx, the Alienware specialists are working on the future of gaming. A new solution is to enable gamers to set up their own gaming cloud in their home network in the future.
Prices and Availability
The Alienware x14, Alienware x15 R2, and Alienware x17 R2 gaming notebooks, as well as the Alienware m15 R7 with Intel CPUs, will be available this winter. The Alienware m17 R5 with AMD CPUs and the Alienware m15 R7 with AMD CPUs will be released in spring 2022.
The Alienware Tri-Mode Wireless Gaming Headset (AW920H) and Alienware Tri-Mode Wireless Gaming Mouse (AW720M) will be available on February 9. The Alienware 34 QD-OLED Gaming Monitor (AW3423DW) will be available on April 5. All prices will be announced at market launch.
