Amazon Fire TV: Online shipping giant presents 3 TV series

Actually, we only know Amazon in combination with TVs from the popular gadgets of the Fire TV series. With their help, you can turn even old TVs into Smart TVs in no time – provided you have an HDMI port. Now, the online retail giant wants to make its Amazon Fire TV series much bigger and quickly put entire TVs on the market. The in-house voice assistant Alexa in particular is to serve as a drawing card.

Amazon Fire TV comes in three series

Now it’s official – Amazon is entering the market of TV sets. So the corporation let the public know on Wednesday, 22.03.23. In doing so, the online retailer is leaving nothing to chance and is launching three different TV series at once. The TVs are supposed to convince primarily with their ease of use, which is supposed to be pushed to the heights with the help of voice assistant Alexa. For example, you can control the most expensive model of the three new series completely without a remote control if you want. You just have to ask Alexa for help to turn on, switch, turn up and turn down the volume. But the extensive Alexa support should not only ensure that you enjoy a high operating comfort.

On top of that, the TV could emerge as a smart home hub, so to speak. For example, calendar entries can be created and viewed here, or smart devices in one’s home can be controlled. Alexa makes it possible. With its entry into the TV segment, Amazon is taking a bold step. After all, the market in this area has slowed down considerably in recent months, after business virtually flourished during the corona pandemic. However, it might be the convenient all-in-one solution, among other things, with which Amazon wants to convince the clientele here. Given the initial information, the plan could well work out.

Amazon Fire TV for streaming and gaming?

If you take a look at the TV market, it quickly becomes clear that average prices have risen significantly. If you want 4K resolution paired with OLED panels and, best of all, a variable refresh rate (VRR), you’ll have to dig deep into your pockets accordingly. At the other end of the price spectrum, however, you will often find devices where the user does not only have to make significant sacrifices in terms of picture quality. The software often does not work well either. And this is exactly where Amazon apparently wants to start. After all, you can buy the cheapest model of the new TV range at a price of just 280 euros.

You won’t be able to expect miracles in terms of picture quality here, but Amazon’s experience in the field of TV sticks should be a guarantee that you’ll be able to stream Netflix, YouTube and of course Prime Video comfortably. If you want something of a higher quality, you can simply go for the most expensive of the three new TV series. The entry-level devices equipped with QLED technology cost 600 Euros. However, the price also increases with the screen size. The TV offensive could also have something to do with the fact that the online retail giant now also wants to launch its Luna service in our region. This is a streaming platform for gaming. With its own TV lineup, this service could possibly be more successful than Google’s famous counterpart. As became known in the fall of last year, Google Stadia is now unfortunately history.

Prices and availability

Amazon has its new TV devices on sale now. The entry is the Fire TV 2 series. The model with 32 inches is available in the pre-order campaign for 189.99 euros (RRP: 279.99 euros). The 40-inch model currently costs 249.99 Euros (RRP: 349.99 Euros). Higher resolution and HDR are available in the Fire TV Series 4, which is available in the pre-order campaign for 349.99 euros (43 inches), 399.99 euros (50 inches) and 449.99 euros (55 inches). The flagship models are the Omni-QLED series. You can also save here in the pre-order promotion. Thus, depending on the size, 399.99 euros (43 inches), 479.99 euros (50 inches), 549.99 euros (55 inches) and 799.99 euros (65 inches). The TVs are then scheduled to start shipping on April 12.
