Amazon Music now offers Prime members the full catalog of 100 million songs

Amazon is significantly upgrading its own music streaming service Amazon Music for Prime members. Previously, there were only two million songs to choose from, but as of now subscribers can access the full catalog of 100 million songs – but there are restrictions.

Amazon Music for Prime members with 100 million songs

The streaming service Amazon Music is becoming much more attractive for Prime members. This is because they now get access to the entire music catalog, which includes a whopping 100 million songs. Previously, this was only available with the additional Music Unlimited subscription, which costs 9.99 euros per month.

However, there are several catches. Compared to Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music, and others, you can only play songs in random order with Amazon Music. Chronological playback of albums is still reserved for Unlimited customers, who continue to benefit from the hi-fi sound quality and 3D audio.

However, the catalog grows significantly – which has been the main weakness of the Prime advantage so far. All artists, albums, playlists and podcasts can now be played in random order without commercial interruption.

This makes the Prime subscription at least a bit more attractive. After all, the Internet giant had only significantly adjusted the prices upward to September 15, 2022. With monthly payment, the price of 8.99 euros (from 7.99 euros) rises. Annually, 89.90 euros will be due instead of the previous 69 euros.

A genuine alternative to the big names in the music streaming sector such as Spotify and Co should represent the new Amazon Music model but not for all listeners.

But at least no additional costs are being called in. For example, the industry is suffering from significantly declining customer numbers due to the increased cost of living. In the UK alone, more than one million customers cancelled their subscriptions to music streaming services in the first quarter of 2022.
