Amazon Visa card now also with Google Pay function

The credit card from Amazon has now also been launched with the Google Pay service. This makes it possible to add the card to Google Pay. Apple Pay will follow soon.

Over nine million acceptance points worldwide

By linking the credit card to the Google Pay payment service, users can easily add their Amazon Visa credit card to Google Pay. An Android operating system version 5.0 or higher (Lollipop) is required. The device used must also have an NFC interface. Activation of the service requires a one-time authentication and you are ready to go. Owners of a Smartwatch or an Android smartphone can then pay with their device at over nine million contactless Mastercard acceptance points worldwide. The Google Pay service itself has already been available in Germany since mid-2018, and now the functions are being expanded. Thanks to the security functions of the Google Pay payment service, payment in stores can be made simply contactlessly with the smartphone or Smartwatch. An encrypted alias card number ensures security with Google Pay. This is stored in the security area of the smartphone or Smartwatch.

Advantages of the Amazon Visa

With the credit card of Amazon Prime members and also normal Amazon customers receive a starting credit of 40,00 euro after approval of the first application of Amazon Visa. Whenever the credit card is used for purchases on Amazon, a Prime member receives 3% credit back on the card. For customers without the Prime membership, a full 2% is refunded on the purchase. If the card is used to make retail purchases, up to 0.5% of the purchase is refunded to the card. Prime members do not pay an annual fee for their Amazon Visa. If you are not an Amazon Prime customer, a card fee of 19.99 euros per year is due from the second year.

Points with Amazon Visa

The reimbursement takes place via points, a purchase with Amazon to 100 euro corresponds thereby to 300 points. 100 points then mean a credit of one Euro on the next purchase. For purchases outside of Amazon, a purchase of 100 Euro is worth 50 points. So you can save a little on your next purchase at Amazon.
