AmbiScape from Philips Evnia: When gaming sets the scene for the whole room

With AmbiScape, Philips Evnia is expanding its lighting ecosystem with a function designed to make gaming setups significantly more immersive. Whereas previously the monitor itself was the main source of atmospheric lighting effects with Ambiglow, the entire room now becomes part of the gaming experience. Colors, brightness and scene changes on the screen are transmitted in real time to compatible smart lights in the room. In combination with Windows Dynamic Lighting, this creates a synchronized lighting system that makes gaming, streaming and entertainment visibly and tangibly more intense.

  • AmbiScape synchronizes Matter-compatible smart lights with the current screen activity in real time
  • AI-supported Ambiglow dynamically adjusts the monitor lighting to colors and scene changes
  • Support for Windows Dynamic Lighting enables central RGB control directly in Windows 11
  • The function is available free of charge for compatible Evnia monitors via the Precision Center from version 1.9

AmbiScape from Philips Evnia extends gaming beyond the screen

With AmbiScape, Philips Evnia is pursuing a clear approach: the monitor should no longer stand isolated on the desk, but function as the central element of a networked room concept. Instead of static RGB lighting, the setup reacts dynamically to what is actually happening on the screen. Quiet exploration scenes create a subtle lighting mood, while fast action sequences trigger intense color changes in the room.

Technically, the system is based on a Matter-certified interface. This means that many network-compatible Smart Light systems can be integrated without the need for additional special hardware. The connection is made via the monitor’s USB upstream port, while control is carried out via the Philips Evnia Precision Center.

One advantage is the flexible customization. Users can individually configure intensity, behavior and room layout. This is particularly interesting for setups with multiple light sources, such as LED strips, smart lamps or compatible RGB components. The aim is not just a color effect, but a consistent visual experience in which the room and screen appear as one. Especially with atmospheric story games, racing games or films, this creates a much more immersive feeling.

AI-supported Ambiglow and Windows Dynamic Lighting ensure uniform control

Ambiglow, the integrated backlighting of many Evnia monitors, is already well known. Unlike classic RGB presets, the system works with AI support and continuously analyzes the content displayed. It recognizes colour gradients, changes in brightness and scene transitions and adjusts the light projection accordingly. This ensures more natural lighting that appears less artificial than rigid color profiles.

This concept is now supplemented by AmbiScape, which transfers the lighting beyond the monitor into the entire room. It also supports Windows Dynamic Lighting. Philips Evnia claims to be the first gaming monitor brand to integrate this feature. Under Windows 11, compatible RGB devices can be managed and synchronized directly via the system settings.

This reduces the dependency on multiple manufacturer tools and creates a more centralized control for the entire setup. Anyone already using RGB keyboards, mice or lighting systems will benefit from much tidier management. Profiles for different usage scenarios can also be saved via the Precision Center – for competitive gaming, series evenings or productive work environments with discreet lighting, for example. This makes the system interesting not only for gamers, but also for general entertainment setups.

Availability: Free update for compatible Evnia monitors

AmbiScape is provided at no additional cost to owners of compatible Philips Evnia monitors. The prerequisite is Philips Evnia Precision Center version 1.9. The updated software package has been available for download since April 29, 2026. This eliminates the need for a traditional purchase price, as the function is offered as a free feature within the existing ecosystem.

Philips Evnia is thus clearly positioning itself in the trend towards smart, networked gaming environments. The combination of Ambiglow, AmbiScape and Windows Dynamic Lighting is particularly exciting because it consistently brings together monitor, room lighting and RGB hardware for the first time. For users with a focus on atmosphere and immersion, the gaming setup is not only more functional, but also significantly more impressive.
