Anker has released an update that makes the first generation Anker Solix Solarbank E1600 compatible with the newer Solarbank 2 Pro and Solarbank 2 Plus models. This update allows users to expand their existing systems and benefit from the improved functions of the current generation.

Compatibility with Anker Solix Solarbank 2 series
Shortly before the end of the year, Anker delights its loyal customers with really big software updates. Just last week we reported that the Solarbank 2 AC (€ 1,099.00 *) now supports bidirectional charging thanks to an update. The manufacturer’s first generation of balcony power station storage units has now also received a major update.
With the new app version 3.3.2, which has been available since 17. December 2024, users can seamlessly connect the first-generation Solix Solarbank E1600 (review, € 558.00 *) with the Solarbank 2 Pro models (review, € 1,099.00 *) and Solarbank 2 Plus (€ 999.00 *).
The older solar bank acts as a storage extension and is connected to the newer generation via one of the PV connections. It is set up via the Anker app under “Set up the station -> Manage devices”. The inverter of the E1600 is controlled by the new generation, so that a separate configuration is no longer necessary.

Advantages of expanding the Anker SOLIX Solarbank system
By combining the first and second generation, users can expand the energy storage to up to 9.6 kWh. In addition, the E1600 with its two inputs for photovoltaic modules enables the connection of additional solar modules, which increases the maximum PV input power of the system. This offers flexible adaptation to individual energy requirements and increases the efficiency of your own power generation.
Simple setup and control
Integrating the Solix Solarbank E1600 into an existing system with the Solarbank 2 Pro or Plus is straightforward via the updated Anker app. Users can use the device management to add the E1600 as an extension. Control of the entire system, including intelligent feed-in via smart meter, is coordinated centrally via the new generation of the Solarbank.
With this update, Anker offers its customers the opportunity to cost-effectively expand existing solar storage solutions and benefit from advances in the latest technology. The combination of old and new generation enables a flexible and powerful solution for private energy supply.
