Anyone who has already looked into other cordless robotic mowers is familiar with the problem: systems that rely exclusively on RTK or camera vision lose their bearings under unfavorable conditions. Full shade under trees, expansive lawns lacking contrast, or narrow passages—every method has its weak point. ANTHBOT addresses this by cross-validating all four positioning sources in real time, rather than relying on just one.

HoloSense: What’s Behind the Quad-Fusion System?

The HoloSense system combines four independent positioning sources into a single platform. The 360° LiDAR unit maps the environment geometrically and works reliably even in the dark—making it particularly useful in areas of dense shade where GPS-based methods struggle. RTK satellite positioning maintains the position on open grass with centimeter-level accuracy. NetRTK delivers the same accuracy via a 4G cellular connection, eliminating the need to install a physical base station. Two AI vision cameras complement the system for obstacle detection.

According to ANTHBOT, continuous cross-validation of all four sources enables the M9 Pro to maintain its position with up to one centimeter accuracy in virtually any garden scenario. The company is presenting the system at Spoga+Gafa 2026 in Cologne and describes it as the foundation for the new M-Pro series. Naturally, the actual results under real-world conditions can only be assessed after extensive testing.

Existing cordless robotic mowers, such as the ANTHBOT Genie, rely on RTK and camera fusion. The M9 Pro adds a LiDAR layer to this, which could make a difference especially in complex gardens with shadows and many corners.

Setup: Drop-and-Mow Without Cables or a Base Station

The “Drop-and-Mow” principle runs through the entire product philosophy: no need to lay a boundary wire or set up an RTK pylon station. ANTHBOT states that setup takes about three minutes. The device connects to satellite signals via 4G/NetRTK, eliminating the need for a physical reference station. The mowing area is mapped via the app during an automatic mapping run; zones can then be individually configured—up to 30 mowing areas are possible, each with its own schedule.

The fact that installation requires no digging is a decisive factor for many buyers. Anyone who has ever laid a boundary wire knows how time-consuming that can be in a larger yard. Other new models, such as the Eufy C15, take a similar approach, also relying on wireless mapping—though without a LiDAR layer.

Technical Specifications and Performance

The M9 Pro is designed for gardens up to 1,000 m² and, according to the manufacturer, can cover up to 150 m² per hour. The 5-blade cutting system has a cutting width of 20 cm, and the cutting height can be fully adjusted between 3 and 7 cm via the app. Slopes of up to 24° (45%) are said to pose no problem, and the robot can navigate obstacles up to 3 cm high. It can still pass through narrow passages as narrow as 65 cm.

The 5-Ah battery charges in about 90 minutes. The AI obstacle detection system is designed to recognize more than 1,000 types of objects—including garden hoses, toys, and pet waste. With a maximum operating noise level of 58 decibels, it falls into the quiet category among the current generation of robotic mowers. IPX6 protection and a rain sensor are also included.

According to ANTHBOT, the EdgeWiz™ edge-mowing system autonomously trims the lawn edges while distinguishing between grass and paved surfaces such as paths or patios. In combination with U-shaped path planning, manual touch-ups should largely be unnecessary—a test will have to show whether this works as smoothly in practice.

Context: What is Quad Fusion Navigation good for?

Robotic mowers without boundary wires have been the dominant trend in the segment for a few years now—no manufacturer will be able to get by without a wireless option by 2025 or 2026. Most rely on a combination of RTK and camera vision, while some now also use LiDAR. With HoloSense, ANTHBOT goes a step further and combines all three methods plus NetRTK into a single system.

Whether the additional sensor technology actually delivers measurably better results than good two-source systems cannot yet be conclusively determined without practical testing. On paper, cross-validation makes sense: if one source fails or provides noisy data, the others compensate for it. This could be a real advantage, especially for gardens with heavy shade—such as under old fruit trees. The technology behind robotic lawn mowers without boundary wires is currently advancing rapidly; for comparison, it’s worth taking a look at the Lymow One Plus, which relies on RTK plus VSLAM and is designed for significantly larger areas.
