Antlion Audio Kimura: New in-ear series presented

Antlion Audio, known for their handy ModMic microphones like the ModMid 5, releases the Antlion Audio Kimura, a new in-ear headset and in-ear headphones and mic cable.

Taking inspiration from a martial arts grip for its name, Antlion Audio brings the Kimura product line of in-ear monitor (IEM) cables with a professional microphone that can be connected to any standard MMCX or 2-pin connector.

This is complemented by additional Kimura in-ear headsets that combine the new cables with audiophile-grade in-ear headphones. In doing so, the microphone cable is said to offer the high-quality audio you’ve come to expect from the manufacturer in a tiny form factor.

The patent-pending circumaural design provides maximum stability and minimal torque on the IEM, while allowing the cable to connect to almost any MMCX or 2-pin IEM.

In addition, the Antlion Audio Kimura series also includes two in-ear headphones with the Kimura Solo and Kimura Duo, which come with a colorful and high-quality solid resin housing and are said to offer “cinematic sound.”

The entry-level Kimura Solo features a single dynamic driver, while the Duo consists of just two Earbuds that are supposed to provide even clearer highs. Both come with the Kimura MMCX microphone cable.

All Kimura products feature two 3.5mm jack plugs for separate earphone and microphone connections, which is said to achieve low noise. Also included is a 3.5mm Y-adapter for headset connections (TRRS), providing maximum compatibility with laptops, game consoles and other devices.

The Kimura microphone cables are to be offered at a suggested retail price of 79 euros. The Kimura Solo will retail at a MSRP of 129 euros, while the Kimura Duo will retail at a MSRP of 189 euros. The manufacturer has not revealed exactly when the products will be available, but Amazon already lists the cables and in-ear headsets (Solo, Duo).
