The AOC CQ32G4ZA is the manufacturer’s first monitor to feature three different combinations of resolution and refresh rate in a single panel: QHD at 260 Hz, Full HD at 360 Hz, and HD at 500 Hz. You can switch between them in the OSD, so a second screen isn’t necessary. The 80 cm (31.5-inch) curved display will go on sale in December 2026 for 319 euros (MSRP).
Three Modes Instead of a Compromise
There are now quite a few dual-mode monitors available—mostly offering 4K/120 Hz on one side and Full HD/240 Hz on the other. AOC takes its Triple Refresh Rate technology a step further by offering three distinct refresh rates:
- QHD at 260 Hz for role-playing games, strategy titles, and open-world games, where texture quality and draw distance matter
- FHD at 360 Hz for competitive shooters, where consistent frame rates are more important than pixel density
- HD at 500 Hz for ranked matches, where every extra frame per second counts
The catch remains the same as with any dual-mode panel: If you select the fastest mode, a significantly lower resolution is scaled up to 31.5 inches. On such a large display, this is likely to be noticeable in 500 Hz mode. AOC also announces that additional models with triple refresh rates are on the way—this one is just the beginning.
Fast VA panel with 4,000:1 contrast ratio and DisplayHDR 400
The panel is a Fast VA with a 1500R curvature. The 4,000:1 contrast ratio is well above what IPS panels offer in this price range, and color coverage reaches 95 percent DCI-P3. For HDR, it meets the entry-level VESA DisplayHDR 400 standard—with a peak brightness of 450 cd/m², this is more of an extended brightness range than true HDR.
AOC specifies a response time of 1 ms GtG and 0.3 ms MPRT. Adaptive Sync synchronizes the refresh rate with the graphics card’s output. For long sessions, AOC features Flicker-Free technology with DC backlighting, a Low Blue Light option, and an anti-glare coating.

One detail stands out: With 2× HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4, AOC sticks with proven standards. The high refresh rates are supported via DisplayPort—with HDMI 2.0, the limit is reached much sooner at QHD resolution.
Price and Availability
The AOC GAMING CQ32G4ZA is expected to be available starting in December 2026 for 319 euros (MSRP), and in Switzerland for 249 CHF (excl. VAT and vRG). For a 31.5-inch monitor with a 500-Hz mode, that’s a competitive price—by comparison, AOC’s 610-Hz esports monitors are in a whole different league, though they only offer a 24-inch screen. Only a hands-on test will reveal whether the Triple Refresh Rate technology really offers more in everyday use than a well-calibrated QHD mode.
