AGON by AOC G3: Five new gaming monitors

The newly unveiled G3 series are the first models that will appear under the new name. In total, the manufacturer offers five monitors, which differ mainly in terms of size.

All gaming monitors of the G3 series feature a 1000R curvature, as well as a refresh rate of 165 Hz. Compared to the predecessor series G2 (1500R curvature), the new curved design is supposed to appeal especially to gamers of competitive shooters.

The 34-inch AOC CU34G3S forms the top model of the new G3 series.

The monitors all feature a slim, 3-sided frameless design and are available in display sizes of 27 inches (68.6 centimeters), 31.5 inches (80 cm) and 34 inches (86.4 cm). Thereby, the new Curved G3 series positions itself as the top model thanks to a higher refresh rate above the previous G2 models, but is not intended to replace them.

The features of the G3 monitor series

All models in the G3 series are equipped with VA panels that offer a refresh rate of 165 Hz. With the Motion Blur Reduction option, a pixel response time of only 1 ms (MPRT) is achieved. Thanks to Adaptive Sync support, a smooth display without tearing is achieved.

The VA panels are equipped with Low-Blue-Light mode and Flicker-Free technology to support the eyes even during extensive gaming sessions. In addition, the manufacturer promises rich, vibrant colors with an exceptional contrast ratio and deep blacks at a 178°/178° viewing angle.

The choice is the AOC CU34G3S with its 34″ VA panel and 21:9 aspect ratio, which resolves in WQHD (3440 x 1440). Completing the G3 series lineup are two 31.5″ and 27″ monitors each in Full HD and QHD resolution variants.

The 31.5″ AOC CQ32G3SU and 27″ CQ27G3SU both come with a 16:9 QHD panel (2560 x 1440), while the 31.5″ C32G3AE monitor and 27″ C27G3U with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) make up the more affordable lower-resolution variants.

Prices and availability

The first models of the G3 series have already been released. For example, the AOC CU34G3S has an MSRP of €689.00, while the CQ32G3SU starts at €449.00 and the C32G3AE is priced at €359.00. The 27-inch CQ27G3SU and C27G3U monitors will follow in September 2021 at MSRPs of €409.00 and €329.00, respectively.
