AOC PRO PD32M: Premium display from Porsche Design and AGON by AOC

Lifestyle brand Porsche Design and AGON by AOC have jointly unveiled a new premium display for gaming. The Porsche Design AOC PRO PD32M relies on a 31.5-inch display with 4K resolution, 144 Hz and a classy design.

AOC Agon Pro PD32M: details and features

The Porsche Design AOC AGON PRO PD32M offers pretty much everything that the gaming heart desires. Here, the manufacturers install a 31.5-inch (80 cm) IPS mini-LED display along with a 4K resolution and a refresh rate of 144 Hz, while the response time (gray to gray) is just 1 ms.

The display is capable of displaying 1.07 billion colors and offers the highest precision for lifelike colors and shades thanks to 97 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. Incorporating state-of-the-art mini-LED backlight technology, the monitor has 1,152 dimming zones that are individually controlled depending on the image content. The PD32M is capable of displaying both blinding sunlight and very intense black shadows in the same image, earning it the highest HDR certification, DisplayHDR 1400.

The peak brightness is 1,400 nits. Thanks to Adaptive Sync, the model is capable of displaying variable refresh rates (VRR), which prevents artifacts like tearing and stuttering.

In terms of connectivity, the AOC PRO PD32M offers DisplayPort 1.4 and two HDMI 2.1 ports, which makes the display exciting for the current PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles in addition to the PC. Thus, up to 120 Hz at 4K can be realized via USB-C as well as HDMI 2.1.

Elegant Design from Porsche

Similar to the 2020 PD27, the design of the AOC PRO PD32M is also based on a Porsche race car. “For the second generation gaming monitor, we have taken the motorsport-inspired design even further. For example, it integrates design borrowings from the steering wheel and spokes of a sports car,” said Roland Heiler, Chief Design Officer at Porsche Design.

The sandblasted base made of cast aluminum ensures enormous robustness and a secure stand. At the same time, the display itself has a compact and at the same time elegant appearance with soft surfaces that taper towards the back from the panel to the interior.

The trapezoidal look of the premium display also includes inserts made of metal mesh for the cooling and the speakers, as well as an indirect RGB backlight. This is joined by a backlit horizontal cooling strip.

There are also slide-out headset or headphone holders on both sides. In addition, the PD32M can be ergonomically adjusted and also offers a pivot function for vertical alignment.

Also in the home office and for content creators

In addition to gaming use, the AOC AGON PRO PD32M is also suitable as a home office monitor for content creators, designers, editors or programmers. With its USB-C input, video signal, data and power (up to 90W – depending on HDR setting) can be transferred simultaneously with a connected notebook via just one USB-C cable. In addition, notebooks can access all peripherals connected to the monitor’s 4-port USB 3.2 hub, such as keyboards, mice or external drives.

Thanks to the integrated KVM switch, connected peripherals can be quickly and easily switched between two connected devices without having to reconnect them. The monitor can even display both sources simultaneously in its Picture-by-Picture mode (maximum UHD at 60 Hz) via its DP, HDMI, or USB-C ports. A powerful sound system with dual 8W speakers and DTS sound also ensures a rich, clear audio experience.

Customizable RGB lighting and customization

.The monitor features fully customizable RGB lighting (Light FX) on the back of the display. When booting up the monitor, you are also greeted with an animated startup logo and a special sound.

The on-screen display (OSD) menu stands out with its user-friendly structure, and a wireless gaming keypad allows quick and easy access to the monitor’s OSD settings. The manufacturer even includes a USB stick directly in the scope of delivery, which contains user manuals and related software.

Price and Availability of the AOC PRO PD32M

The Porsche Design AOC AGON PRO PD32M is available in stores now. The manufacturer’s MSRP is 2,179.00 euros, although the monitor is already listed on Porsche Design’s website with a price of 1,999.00 euros.
