Apple brings color to life with new iMac and M1 ARM processor

The new 24 inch iMac has now been presented with the new M1 ARM processor. Thereby, the iMac is not only focused on the new processor, but also comes in many different colors in the new design super.

More power and 4K

According to Apple, the new model of the iMac brings up to 85 percent faster processor performance and up to 50 percent better graphics performance compared to its 21.5-inch predecessor thanks to the new M1 chip. At the same time, the chip is significantly more power-efficient and thus produces less heat. According to Apple, the two new fans only produce a noise level of 10 dB. Users can therefore look forward to quiet working.

Apart from the performance of the new chip in the iMac, it comes with a new 4.5K display and resolves at a maximum brightness of 500 nits in 4,480 x 2,520 pixels. At the same time, the iMac’s case is only 11.5 mm thin. As with the iPad Pro, there is no curvature, so the back is completely flat. In addition, Apple has come up with something in terms of colors, so the 24-inch iMac comes in green, yellow, orange, rosé, purple, blue and silver on the market.

Innovative in design and technology

The iMac’s power supply connects magnetically to the PC and at the same time, the Ethernet connector has also been integrated into the power supply. This means you have even fewer cables going to the PC. The ports are located on the back of the iMac, here are four USB-C ports, two of which support Thunderbolt.

The sound system, the microphones, the keyboard and also the camera have received a makeover. Thus, there is a 1,080p FaceTime HD camera. There are four woofers and two tweeters in the sound system to support Apple’s Spatial Audio, and the microphones have been improved. The Magic Keyboard now offers the option to unlock via Touch ID, and a fingerprint sensor has been installed for this. The Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad are also available in new colors to match the respective iMac.

Availability and pricing

The new 24-inch iMac will be available for order starting April 30, 2021, and is scheduled to begin shipping in the second half of May. Prices start from 1,449 euros for the base model with 8 GB RAM and a 256 GB SSD. For the Magic Keyboard, two additional USB-C connectors and an Ethernet port, another 220 Euros will be added on top.
