Apple Keynote: New generation of AirPods Pro presented

As experience shows, September is always Apple’s most important keynote. And that was also the case this year. Yesterday, September 7, the Californian tech company presented its latest technology highlight in the form of iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro. But the company also unveiled matching accessories. In particular, many Apple fans should be happy about the latest version of the in-house true-wireless in-ears AirPods Pro.

Also comfortable for people with small ear canals

Apple seems to have improved its premium in-ears in many ways. The new centerpiece is the H2 chip. Among other things, this enables better active noise cancellation than in the predecessor. Apple goes out on a limb and promises twice the performance of the ANC. With Spatial Audio on board, you should also enjoy three-dimensional sound. Furthermore, the manufacturer promises more comfort when wearing the in-ear headphones. A new silicone cushion is supposed to make this possible. According to Apple, this should finally allow people with rather small ear canals to wear the Apple AirPods Pro comfortably.

The active noise cancellation gets smarter

The revision of the transparency mode sounds really exciting. This is supposed to do the exact opposite of noise cancellation when needed and consequently amplify ambient noise. This proves to be extremely practical, among other things, when making incomprehensible announcements at the airport or train station. But so that the transparency mode does not lead to unwanted amplification of noise, it can probably be specifically suppressed.

Apple says the latest generation AirPods Pro will last six hours. In combination with the charging case, a total of 30 hours should be possible. Thus, they last significantly longer than the Teufel Real Blue TWS 2 presented at IFA. Should you lose one of the in-ears, you should be able to find it easily. Thus, each of the two headphones secretes an individual sound. Via Apple’s popular “Find my …” function, you can also find the charging case again.

Wireless charging for Apple Watch owners

Those who already own an Apple Watch can also use the smartwatch’s charger directly for the new AirPods Pro. So you now have the choice between three different charging options. Either you rely on the classic Lightning cable, put the charging case on the charger of the Apple Watch or use a Qi charging surface.

Price and Availability

Apple is making its new AirPods Pro available for purchase now. The tech company is calling for an MSRP of 299 euros for the true-wireless in-ears with ANC.
