iPhone 14 Plus: Camera problems and remedy

Complaints about an older model of the classic smartphone are currently on the rise. The iPhone 14 Plus (approx. € 730) has now been on the smartphone market for two years and is causing annoyance due to its poor camera performance.
Affected users report that the device’s camera simply does not show any image previews. Apple does not want to take this lying down. Accordingly, the tech company has now launched a free repair program for the large-format iPhone. The program applies regardless of the warranty status and can be claimed from authorized providers.
Some iPhone 14 Plus models manufactured between April 2023 and April 2024 are affected by this camera problem. The affected devices do not show a live preview in camera mode, which significantly impairs use. Affected users can check their serial number on the Apple website to determine if their device qualifies for the program. If the device is not in perfect condition for the repair, Apple may charge additional costs.
iPhone 14 Plus: Repair process and conditions
Apple has two options for the repair: The device can either be taken directly to an Apple Store or to an authorized service provider. Alternatively, Apple offers the option of sending the device in for repair. What is particularly pleasing for users is that the program also applies if the manufacturer’s warranty on the device has already expired. Apple has also made it clear that the repair program will be offered for up to three years after the device goes on sale. So you shouldn’t wait too long. The program ends in September 2025.
