Apple apparently wants to add a new feature to its own music streaming service. Apple Music Sing is expected to add a karaoke feature to the service later this month.
Apple Music Sing to launch before the end of December 2022
Apple Music is also known primarily for its large database of song lyrics. And it is precisely this that the music streaming service wants to make use of before the end of December 2022 and launch a new karaoke function with Apple Music Sing. Just in time for the holidays and New Year’s Eve parties, that’s certainly not a bad idea.
Then, the volume of the vocals within the songs should be able to be adjusted separately from the music. The large, animated song lyrics should then help you sing along. It should also be possible to mix the vocal passages with other songs in the music catalog.
Already 50 playlists are to be offered at the start specifically for this, in which well-known titles, duets and much more are available. In total, there are more than ten million songs to choose from.

Vocal isolation using machine learning algorithm
Using machine learning, Apple plans to filter vocals from songs to allow separate volume adjustments, an Apple spokesperson revealed to Mashable. In each case, the algorithm works directly on the device and does not obtain or process data over the Internet.
Adjusting the volume for the vocals is done simply by pressing the microphone button, which is then displayed in the Lyric View window.
To ensure that the whole thing runs synchronously, Apple has adapted the song lyrics and now displays them in real time. Lyrics are displayed beat by beat and displayed individually when they are played.
However, it will not be possible to completely remove the original vocals, which will always continue at minimum volume.
