In addition to the new iPads and iPhones unveiled at Apple’s keynote today, a new Apple Watch was also unveiled – the Apple Watch Series 7.
The main focus this year was on improving the display and durability of the Apple Watch. Thus, the bezels of the Apple Watch have been shrunk by 40% and the corners have been further rounded. The protective glass of the new watch is also said to be better protected against breakage. Overall, the Apple Watch is now also IP6X dust-proof and WR50 water-resistant (up to 50 meters).

A few things have also happened on the software side. Watch OS 8 has received improvements around the bike. For example, detection for falling off the bike has been introduced and the calculation of calories while riding an e-bike has also been improved. Further, there are also software updates that only affect the Series 7. Thanks to the larger display, the buttons in menus are now larger, which makes them easier to use, and a new keyboard has been introduced that supports “QuickPath”, i.e. typing via swiping, among other things.
Compared to the Series 6, the Apple Watch Series 7 is now said to charge 33% faster and can charge to 80% within 45 minutes. Furthermore, the Apple Watch Series 7 is compatible with all previous bands and more new ones have been introduced.
