Smart home specialist Aqara has introduced numerous new smart home devices at the start of the year. In addition to a video doorbell and a smart door lock, Aqara’s new products also include an LED light strip and a presence sensor. Since this is a preview of the products to be released in this, the information is quite sparse so far.
Video Doorbell and Smart Door Lock
The Video Doorbell G4 is designed to help keep an eye on your home at all times and from any location. Through the video function, it is always possible to see who is currently standing in front of the door. According to the information in the press release issued by Aqara, the video doorbell is supposed to be equipped with artificial intelligence and compatible with numerous other smart home products. A new smart door lock is also mentioned, but little more information is available about it. All that is known is that it is intended to provide convenient keyless access to the home.
Other new products
In addition to the two new products for the front door, Aqara’s press release introduces a presence sensor called FP2. This is designed to detect the presence of people in a room even when they are not moving. It is thus clearly more sensitive than a classic motion detector. It can be used, for example, to control lighting automation systems that depend on the presence of people in a room.
Aqara has also introduced a new product for lighting: the LED strip light Strip T1. It can display up to 16 million colors as well as various white light tones. In addition, gradient effects are possible.
Prices and availability
Aqara’s unveiled new products are scheduled to hit the market over the coming months. The exact release dates as well as the prices are unknown so far.
