Asus has unveiled a new, exceptionally lightweight laptop, the A14 Air 2026. According to the manufacturer, the device weighs just 990 grams and combines an AMD Ryzen 9 processor with a 120-Hz OLED display—though it is currently only available in China.
Slim Design, Powerful Processor
Weighing 990 grams and measuring just 14.9 millimeters thick, the A14 Air 2026 is one of the lightest laptops with a high-performance processor. Inside, it’s powered by the AMD Ryzen 9 8945H from the Hawk Point series, whose integrated Radeon 780M, according to Asus, is capable of handling even the latest AAA games at reduced graphics settings. For such a lightweight chassis, this is an unusually powerful setup, leaning more toward slim gaming ultrabooks than classic business devices.
High-Brightness 120-Hz OLED
The 14-inch OLED panel has a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels and, according to the manufacturer, achieves a peak brightness of 600 nits. It also offers full coverage of the DCI-P3 color space and DisplayHDR True Black 600 certification. With a 120-Hz refresh rate, the display is suitable not only for productivity tasks but also for occasional gaming.
Cooling, Battery, and Ports
Cooling is handled by two fans, which, according to Asus, are designed to deliver consistently high performance with low noise levels. A 70-Wh battery powers the system, while the processor can operate at up to 45 watts. Despite its slim chassis, the laptop offers a decent variety of ports: one USB-C and one USB4 port, two USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1, and a 3.5-mm headphone jack. The features are rounded out by a large trackpad, a keyboard designed for comfortable typing, and a hinge that opens 180 degrees.
Price and Availability
The Asus A14 Air 2026 launches in China with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage at a price equivalent to around 880 euros. The version with 32 GB of RAM and a 1-TB SSD costs about 1,000 euros. Two M.2 slots also allow for future storage expansion. Asus has not yet commented on international availability, but outside of China, the laptop could be released as part of the ZenBook series. Competitors already offer similarly lightweight laptops, such as the Lenovo ThinkBook 14x, which also weighs about 990 grams and runs on Intel’s Lunar Lake platform rather than AMD.
