ASUS and ROG present 9 new monitors at CES 2022

New ASUS monitors at CES 2022: ASUS and ROG unveiled the latest displays for gamers, creative professionals, mobile business users, and home office workers and students at CES 2022. We provide you with an overview of all the new monitors.

ASUS ProArt Display PA169CDV

The ASUS ProArt Display PA169CDV is a 15.6-inch 4K UHD IPS display with Wacom EMR technology for compatibility with the included ProArt Pen. It is primarily aimed at professional users and combines 4K resolution with DisplayHDR 400 certification.

Its innovative design includes two kickstands for versatile use. The top kickstand tilts the PA169CDV slightly for drawing and sketching, while the bottom sets it up at an ideal angle for use as a secondary display.

The PA169CDV is PANTONE Validated and Calman Verified, making it the first portable monitor to boast two certifications at once. It is factory pre-calibrated to Delta E < 2 color difference and offers 10-bit color, 100 percent sRGB and 100 percent Rec.709 color space coverage.

The ProArt Pen uses Wacom EMR technology to provide a natural handwriting feel.  Batteries are not required for use. It is also compatible with ASUS Dial, allowing users to access keyboard shortcuts when working with supported Adobe software to ensure a smooth workflow.

ProArt Display OLED PA16DC

The ProArt Display OLED PA16DC is a 15.6-inch 4K (3840 x 2160) HDR monitor with an OLED panel. It offers 10-bit color, covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space, and has a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 to deliver the deepest blacks and brightest whites. The ProArt Display OLED PA16DC is aligned with VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black and features ASUS Smart HDR technology for and PQ curves.

An integrated colorimeter enables effortless calibration to ensure long-term color accuracy. The colorimeter can also be used for SDR and HDR calibration with the included ProArt calibration software, which offers seamless integration with third-party software such as Calman and Light Illusion ColourSpace CMS. The display features a bezel to reduce reflections and includes two different stands to suit different scenarios.

ProArt Display PA348CGV

The ProArt Display PA348CGV in 21:9 UWQHD format brings it to 3440 x 1440 pixels and is also pre-calibrated for Delta E < 2 color accuracy. It is Calman certified and has a variable refresh rate of 120 Hz for smooth 2D/3D playback.

The ergonomic design allows the monitor to be easily adjusted for better viewing angles. The monitor comes with two different monitor stands for different uses, so you can choose either a traditional monitor stand or a C-clamp desk mount to make the most of your desk space.

DisplayPort, dual-HDMI, and USB-C support video signals, data transfers, and up to 90W of power delivery to external devices via one cable. An additional USB hub for connecting more devices is also available.

ZenScreen Ink MB14AHD

The innovative ZenScreen Ink MB14AHD is a 14-inch IPS panel with dual-touch functionality. The display offers 10-point touch and an active stylus pen for writing. An integrated kickstand enables variable usage scenarios in the office, at home or outdoors. Also included is an MPP2.0 stylus pen that is precise with 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity and low latency.

ZenScreen Go MB16AWP

ASUS delivers a 15.6-inch full HD IPS monitor with an anti-glare screen with the ZenScreen Go MB16AWP. It also features a powerful built-in battery. Built-in wireless connectivity lets you stream movies from your smartphone or project presentations from another device, all without having to connect a cable.

The automatic rotation function (with G-sensor) detects the orientation of the monitor and switches the display between landscape and portrait depending on the position. The new kickstand design provides additional flexibility for convenient use in a variety of scenarios. An integrated 1/4-inch thread on the bottom of the monitor allows users to attach it to a standard tripod to save desk space.

ASUS BE24ECSNK

The 23.8-inch ASUS BE24ECSNK full-HD IPS monitor is aimed primarily at home office users. It is equipped with an integrated 2-million-pixel FHD webcam (1920 x 1080) and microphone array. This makes it ideal for video conferencing and distance learning with Microsoft Teams, Webex, Google Meet, Zoom and other popular applications.

The integrated webcam tilts (-10°, +10°) and swivels (-135°, +180°) so users are always in the picture regardless of their position. The ASUS BE24ECSNK features dual microphones with exclusive AI Noise Cancellation technology that eliminates virtually all background noise for an optimal communication experience.

In addition, the built-in webcam features Face Auto Exposure technology, which automatically detects faces and optimizes images for better video conferencing. Extensive connectivity options include DisplayPort-over-USB-C with 80-watt power supply, DisplayPort input and output for daisy-chain support, an HDMI port, RJ45 for wired Ethernet connections, USB 3.2 Gen 1 hub, and dual 2-watt stereo speakers. It also features a 130mm height-adjustable ergonomic stand with swivel (+/- 180°), pivot (+/- 90°) and tilt (-5°, +35°) functions.

ROG Swift 360Hz PG27AQN eSports Gaming Monitor

ASUS’ ROG label also has an exciting monitor in store for gamers, in the form of the ROG Swift 360Hz PG27AQN. The 27-inch 1440p monitor offers a super smooth display with an overclocked 360 HZ refresh rate and G-SYNC, making it perfect for competitive gaming. It also includes Reflex Latency Analyzer to measure system and screen latency when using a ROG mouse with NVIDIA Reflex.

This marks the PG27AQN as ROG’s fastest monitor to date in terms of real-world response times. Instead of using a normal IPS panel, the liquid crystal structure and material has been rethought to achieve a faster response time.

By redesigning liquid crystals with higher birefringence and lower viscosity, faster switching and light changes are possible. In addition, the orientation of the liquid crystals has been changed to increase efficiency. With this new arrangement, the liquid crystals take less time to rotate.

Finally, a dual-layer voltage driver has been integrated into the display. Conventional displays use only a single-layer voltage driver to drive the liquid crystals from the top left corner to the bottom right corner.  With the new dual-layer voltage driver, the liquid crystals turn off from both corners simultaneously for a smoother, more uniform image.

ROG Swift OLED PG42UQ and PG48UQ gaming monitors

The ROG Swift OLED display lineup includes the new Swift OLED PG42UQ, among others. This is the world’s first 42-inch OLED gaming monitor with Micro-Texture coating. It is complemented by the larger 48-inch Swift OLED PG48UQ for users looking for an even more immersive experience.

Both displays offer 4K viewing at 120Hz and take advantage of OLED technology such as a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 0.1ms response time, and true 10-bit color and 98% DCI-P3 color coverage. These displays are also factory pre-calibrated to Delta E < 2 color accuracy.

Unlike other OLED displays, the ROG Swift OLED series monitors feature the new anti-glare Micro Texture coating on the panel surface to reduce glare and provide viewers with more accurate on-screen color representation. These monitors also feature a unique thermal solution with a custom heat sink and internal airflow layout that optimizes heat exchange. This keeps operating temperatures below 50˚ C yet achieves a peak brightness of 900 nits.

VRR and ALLM for Xbox Series X and PS5

Both Swift OLED displays feature HDMI 2.1 FRL to fully support 48 Gbps and native 4K displays at 120 Hz without chroma subsampling. Console gamers can also benefit from variable refresh rate technology and auto-low latency mode, which make for an especially smooth and lag-free display of games. In addition, the Swift OLED displays feature a range of connectivity options, including two HDMI 2.1 and two HDMI 2.0 ports, DisplayPort 1.4 and a USB hub.
