ASUS announces launch of ProArt PF120 case fan – Maximum cooling performance meets minimalist design

With the ProArt PF120, ASUS is launching a new high-performance case fan that is specifically aimed at performance-oriented systems. High static pressure, strong airflow and optimized noise characteristics should make the fan attractive for both classic airflow setups and AiO water cooling systems. In addition to performance, ASUS has focused on a sophisticated design with high compatibility and simplified cable management.

  • Up to 7.3 mmH₂O static pressure and 104.8 cfm airflow at 3000 rpm
  • 28 mm frame for high compatibility, even in narrow housings
  • LCP fan blades with 0.5 mm gap for optimized aerodynamics
  • Patented daisy chain system for clean cable management

ProArt PF120 case fan: top-level performance data

The ProArt PF120 case fan is clearly positioned in the high-end segment of 120 mm fans. With a maximum speed of 3000 rpm, it achieves a static pressure of 7.3 mmH₂O and an airflow of 104.8 cfm. These values are on a par with current top models in the performance range and predestine the fan in particular for radiators of AiO liquid cooling systems or restrictive mesh fronts.

Even at reduced speeds of 2000 or 1200 rpm, the efficiency remains high, which enables flexible adaptation to different load scenarios – from quiet idle phases to intensive rendering or gaming sessions. The maximum noise level is specified at 39 dB(A), which can be classified as competitive given the speed class.

Technically, ASUS relies on fan blades made of liquid crystal polymer (LCP). This material is characterized by high stability, low thermal expansion and natural vibration damping. As a result, the rotor blades retain their shape even at high speeds. A particularly narrow, continuous gap of just 0.5 mm between the frame and rotor reduces air turbulence and improves static pressure.

Inside, a three-phase, six-pole motor works in combination with a fluid dynamic bearing (FDB). The setup is complemented by a bearing housing made entirely of brass and a steel motor core. The aim of this design is to achieve reduced noise characteristics with minimized frequency peaks and smooth running.

Sophisticated design with daisy chain system and high compatibility

In addition to pure performance, ASUS attaches great importance to easy integration into existing builds. With a frame thickness of 28 mm, the fan remains relatively compact despite its high-performance character and should also fit easily into small form factor housings or on radiators. The dimensions are 120 × 120 × 28 mm with a weight of 221 grams.

A key feature is the patented integrated daisy-chain connection design. Several fans can be connected directly to each other mechanically, with power and PWM signals being forwarded simultaneously. This significantly reduces the amount of cables and ensures a tidy interior – a clear advantage for minimalist builds without ARGB lighting.

For additional flexibility, the 3-pack comes with an integrated three-stage fan speed controller. This can be used to select 1400, 2200 or 3000 rpm – depending on the desired ratio of volume and cooling performance.

Visually, the ProArt PF120 remains deliberately understated. It is available in black or white, complemented by discreet brass elements in the center. The design is therefore clearly aimed at builds with a clean, professional look.

Conclusion

With the ProArt PF120, ASUS delivers a powerful 120 mm case fan that combines high pressure values, efficient airflow and optimized acoustics. The model is particularly interesting for radiator setups and powerful workstations. The recommended retail price is 32.90 euros for the single version and 89.90 euros for the 3-pack. The fan is available immediately from specialist retailers and in the ASUS webshop in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
