In addition to numerous new Zenbook models, Asus also presented the new products in the Vivobook notebook lineup at “The Pinnacle of Performance” launch event, including the powerful Vivobook Pro series, the S series and the Vivobook 13 Slate OLED in the Artist editions. We have summarized all the information in our overview.
Asus Vivobook Pro series: For creatives
Asus expands the Vivobook Pro series with a whole range of new models. Among them are the 16-inch Vivobook Pro 16X OLED (N7601/M7601), the 15.6-inch Vivobook Pro 15X OLED (K6501/M6501), the 14.5-inch Vivobook Pro 14X OLED (N7401), the 16-inch Vivobook Pro 16 OLED (K6602) and the 15.6-inch Vivobook Pro 15 OLED (K6502/K6500/M6500).
The new Creator notebooks come up with powerful components. In terms of CPUs, a maximum of an Intel Core i9 12900H or AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processor is offered, which Asus supports with up to 32 GB of DDR5 working memory and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti graphics card.
Storage is on a maximum 2 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. Thanks to ASUS’ IceCool Pro thermal technology, the CPU and GPU can be used in combination with a TDP of 140 watts. The installed OLED displays get very fast with a refresh rate of 120 Hz (3.2K resolution in the 16-inch model, 2.8K in the 15.6-incher). Optionally, there are 4K 60 Hz OLED NanoEdge 600 nit displays.
For ultimate creativity, the Vivobook Pro series is equipped with the intuitive ASUS DialPad rotary virtual app control. Battery capacity is up to 90 Wh, depending on the model, which should easily be enough for a long, creative workday. The rugged cases are also certified according to US military standards.
Asus Vivobook S series with four new models
The Asus Vivobook S series can also look forward to plenty of growth, with the following newly introduced models being added to the lineup:
- 14.5-inch Vivobook S 14X OLED (S5402/M5402)
- 16-inch Vivobook S 16X OLED (S5602/M5602),
- 14-inch Vivobook S 14 OLED (K3402/M3402)
- 15.6-inch Vivobook S 15 OLED (K3502/M3502)
With up to 17.9 mm and a weight of up to 1.6 kg, the notebooks are particularly thin and light, but still have a strong CPU performance of 45 W TDP. The maximum CPU available in the top models is an Intel Core i7 12700H processor of the 12th generation (with Intel Evo certification in selected models) or AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX CPU, both with integrated Intel Iris Xe or AMD Radeon graphics.
In addition, there are upgradeable 16 GB DDR4 RAM and a fast 1 TB PCIe SSD. They also all rely on an OLED NanoEdge display with resolutions of up to 4K and response times of 0.2 milliseconds. They also feature the world’s first 14.5-inch and 15.6-inch 2.8K 120 Hz OLED panels.
The Vivobook S 14/15 models feature a metal lid and are available in Indie Black, Neutral Grey or Brave Green. The premium S 14X/16X models feature an all-metal construction and come in Midnight Black, Solar Silver or Sand Grey.
Vivobook 13 Slate OLED Artist Editions
Developed in collaboration with the world-renowned artists, the Artist Editions feature stylish hardware, exclusive accessories and packaging. These include a cover stand, smart cover, case, stylus holder and packaging featuring the artist’s original artwork. Both editions are also available with an optional ASUS Marshmallow mouse designed by the artist.
Both artist editions are based on the world’s first detachable 13.3-inch Windows OLED notebook, the Vivobook 13 Slate, with OLED touchscreen, smart cover stand with 170° hinge, quad-core Intel processor and ASUS Pen 2.0.
Prices and Availability
The Asus Vivobook Pro series is scheduled to launch in German stores in Q3 2022. However, the manufacturer does not yet provide information about the prices. In contrast, Asus’ Vivobook S series will already be launched in the 2nd quarter, starting at an MSRP of 1,299 Euros. At the same time, the Vivobook 13 Slate OLED in the Artist Edition will hit the market, starting at 799 Euros.
