ASUS introduces numerous new monitors at CES 2023

At CES 2023, ASUS has unveiled quite a few exciting new products. Among them new peripherals,exciting notebooks and the ASUS ROG (Republic of Gamers) Swift Pro PG248QP gaming monitor with 540 Hz. In addition, however, there are many other monitors that we will introduce to you at this point.

New ASUS and ROG monitors at CES 2023

We have already presented the 540 Hz monitor ASUS ROG Swift Pro PG248QP, as well as the OLED gaming monitor ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM in detail. However, ASUS has even more exciting novelties in tow.

ROG Strix XG49WCR

The ASUS ROG Strix XG49WCR is a 49-inch gaming monitor in 32:9 format (5120 x 1440 pixels) with a refresh rate of 165 Hz, which is supposed to provide a smooth display on a huge screen.

The Strix XG49WCR features HDR technology, a professional sRGB color space of 125% and a Delta E < 2 color difference for amazing HDR performance. It also offers a DisplayHDR 400 certification.

The integrated FreeSync Premium technology ensures a seamless, smooth gaming experience as VRR (variable refresh rate) is enabled by default. The integrated KVM switch makes it easy to switch mouse and keyboard between two connected devices.

In addition, the gaming monitor has a variety of ports such as DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0, USB-C with 65-watt power supply, a USB hub, and an RJ45 Ethernet port that allows it to be used as a dock for notebooks.

ROG Swift PG32UQXR – The First ROG DisplayPort 2.1 Gaming Monitor

The Swift PG32UQXR is a 32-inch 4K (3840 x 2160) mini LED gaming monitor with a 160Hz refresh rate designed for professional gamers. DisplayPort 2.1 connectivity enables 4K display at 160 Hz without compression.

Thanks to Full Array Local Dimming (FALD) backlighting, it achieves a peak brightness of 1,000 nits in 576 independent LED light zones, offering the DisplayHDR 1000 standard. The Quantum Dot panel offers over 95% DCI-P3 color space coverage and is factory pre-calibrated to Delta E <2. The Swift PG32UQXR also offers numerous connectivity options, including DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1 and USB hub.

TUF Gaming VG32UQA1A and VG27AQML1A

There are also exciting new gaming monitors in the TUF Gaming sub-brand. The TUF Gaming VG32UQA1A is a 31.5-inch gaming monitor with 4K resolution (3840 x 2160) and a fast refresh rate of 160 Hz.

It features a 1ms MPRT response time, while the integrated FreeSync Premium technology enables a seamless, smooth gaming experience by enabling VRR (variable refresh rate) by default.

Thanks to ASUS Extreme Low Motion Blur technology, ghosting and tearing are said to be a thing of the past. HDR is also offered, as well as 99 percent sRGB color space coverage. The monitor meets the DisplayHDR 400 requirements and features DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1, and a USB hub.

The 27-inch TUF Gaming VG27AQML1A with QHD resolution (2,560 x 1,440 pixels) is more compact. The Fast IPS gaming monitor has a refresh rate of 240 Hz.

It uses ASUS Fast IPS technology to ensure a sharp gaming display with a response time of 1 ms (GTG) even at the highest refresh rates. Integrated FreeSync Premium technology ensures a seamless, smooth gaming experience by enabling VRR (variable refresh rate) by default, while ASUS Extreme Low Motion Blur Sync (ELMB Sync) technology prevents ghosting and tearing.

HDR including DisplayHDR 400 certification and 99 percent sRGB color space coverage is also offered. Additional feature: a 1/4-inch thread on the top of the monitor stand allows users to mount a camera or additional display for a unique gaming or streaming setup. In addition, the TUF Gaming VG27AQML1A features DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0 and a USB hub.

New ASUS ProArt monitors

For creative professionals, ASUS offers the ProArt monitors. New to the lineup, for example, is the ProArt Display OLED PA32DCM. It features a 31.5-inch 4K Pure RGB Stripe OLED panel with a maximum brightness of 700 nits and 99 percent DCI-P3 color space coverage.

This sleek monitor has a 50% smaller stand[i] compared to its predecessors, freeing up valuable desk space that can be used for a tidy setup. In addition, it can also be mounted on a wall in either portrait or landscape orientation.

The ProArt Display OLED PA32DCM delivers exceptional color thanks to true 10-bit color depth and a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio for the deepest blacks and most detailed HDR content. It also supports multiple HDR formats, including HDR10 and HLG. Class-leading Delta E < 1 color difference and ASUS ProArt hardware calibration technology ensure the most accurate colors.

It also works seamlessly with Calman professional hardware calibration software and Light Illusion ColourSpace CMS, and features a full Thunderbolt 4 port with 90W of power, HDMI and a USB hub.

It is complemented by the ProArt Display PA279CRV. A 27-inch 16:9 4K UHD IPS display with wide 178° viewing angles. It is Calman-approved and factory calibrated to Delta E < 2 color accuracy and features 99% DCI-P3 and 99% Adobe RGB color gamut, as well as USB-C with 96 watts of power.

The monitor is VESA DisplayHDR 400 and MediaSync compliant and features DisplayPort 1.4, DisplayPort with daisy-chain capability, HDMI 2.0, USB hub and headphone jack. Compared to other 27-inch ProArt displays, it’s also said to be 30 percent thinner and offer a 33 percent smaller stand, saving you space. In addition to the 27-inch PA279CRV model, the series also includes the 24-inch PA248CRV and 32-inch PA329CRV.

Asus ZenScreen

ASUS has also unveiled three new models in the ZenScreen mobile series. The ASUS ZenScreen MB16QHG is a 16-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 (16:10) and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

It relies on a slim design with a foldable L-shaped stand that holds the display securely at various angles for a comfortable viewing position. An auto rotation feature can also be activated in the ASUS DisplayWidget Center to keep the screen content properly aligned.

It also has a 1/4-inch socket that can be used to attach the monitor to a tripod so that it is level with the laptop screen. The ZenScreen MB16QHG has a variety of connectivity options, including a full-sized USB-C port, an HDMI port, and a headphone jack.

The USB-C ports are on either side of the monitor, so it can be placed to the left or right of a laptop to minimize the distance between the two and provide a seamless display. Thanks to DisplayHDR400 and 100 percent DCI-P3 color space coverage, contrast and color values are also spot on.

Adding to the list, the ZenScreen MB17AHG is a 17.3-inch FHD IPS display with a 144Hz refresh rate and FreeSync Premium technology that shares most features with the MB16QHG.

The ZenScreen MB249C is a portable 23.8-inch FHD IPS display with a bezel-less design and is manufactured using an exclusive insert molding process and is just 17.7 mm thin while weighing 2.8 kg.

The handle also doubles as a stand, allowing it to be securely placed at various angles for a comfortable viewing position. Included is an ergonomic C-clamp stand that adjusts +/- 180 mm in height and +/- 180 mm in the Z-axis.

A 1-watt speaker with intelligent amplifier is also integrated by the manufacturer. The included divider hook kit offers versatile placement options for those looking for a space-saving workstation. Extensive connectivity options include USB-C with 60W power, HDMI, and a headphone jack.

Monitor and projector

The ASUS BE24ECSBT is a 23.8-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) frameless IPS monitor with a 10-point multi-touch panel that has plenty of ports including HDMI, USB-C, DisplayPort with daisy-chain capability, headphone jack, and USB hub. Via USB-C- can be charged with 80 watts of charging power, while simultaneously enabling image signals and data from the laptop to the display.

A portable projector is also available, in the form of the ASUS ZenBeam L2. With a light output of 600 LED lumens and native FHD resolution (4K compatible), it offers users bright projected images with impressive detail. Its short-throw lens projects a 40-inch image from a distance of 1 meter and a 120-inch image from 3 meters.

Three-second autofocus and keystone correction with four-corner correction ensure that the projected image is always perfect. Also on offer are Google-certified Android TV and extensive connectivity options such as HDMI, USB-C (one with DP Alt mode, one for charging), USB Type-A (5 V/1.5 A) and a headphone jack.

A 10-watt speaker from Harman Kardon is also installed, which offers various sound modes for movies, games, music and more. Thanks to a built-in battery, the ZenBeam L2 is said to provide around three hours of video projection before needing to recharge.

Prices and Availability

Already hitting the market in the first quarter are the ProArt Display PA279CRV at an MSRP of 549 euros, as well as the ZenScreen MB249C (399 euros), while the BE24ECSBT is already available now at an MSRP of 349.00 euros.

The ROG Strix XG49WCR (1,199 euros), ROG Swift PG32UQXR (1,599 euros), TUF Gaming VG32UQA1A (699 euros), ZenScreen MB17AHG (399 euros), ZenScreen MB16QHG (499 euros) and ZenBeam L2 (799 euros) will then follow in the second quarter of 2022.

The TUF Gaming VG27AQML1A will launch in the third quarter of 2023 at a price of 499 Euros. ASUS has not yet mentioned a price or availability for the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM, ROG Swift Pro PG248QP and ProArt Display OLED PA32DCM models.
