Several months after its unveiling at Computex 2026, Asus has now officially launched the Asus ProArt OLED PA279CDV in Germany as well. The 27-inch monitor is specifically designed for creative professionals and Mac users.
QD-OLED Panel with 1,000 Nits and 120 Hz
At the heart of the Asus ProArt OLED PA279CDV is a third-generation 4K QD-OLED panel from Samsung Display. It offers a peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification. Unlike current top-of-the-line models, the monitor does not use tandem OLED technology or an RGB subpixel structure, but it does feature a protective layer that, according to Asus, is 2.5 times more scratch-resistant than previous QD-OLED panels —an approach Asus most recently adopted with the ROG Strix OLED XG34WCDMS, which features the so-called BlackShield film.
Focus on Color Accuracy and macOS Integration
The PA279CDV fully covers the sRGB color space and covers 99 percent of both DCI-P3 and BT.2020. The panel is factory-calibrated and Calman Verified, and free calibration software is included. For Mac users, the M Model-P3 color mode is also available, which adjusts the display to match the color characteristics of a MacBook.
Integration with macOS is particularly seamless: brightness and volume can be controlled directly via a MacBook’s keyboard. A USB-C port with 96-watt Power Delivery and a built-in KVM switch also make it easy to switch between two connected computers.
Features and Price
Additional features include a proximity sensor that dims the display when you step away from your workstation, as well as an ambient light sensor for automatic brightness adjustment. The ergonomic stand is slimmer than on earlier models and features integrated cable management.
The ProArt Display OLED PA279CDV is already listed at several retailers, with prices currently ranging from around 770 to 800 euros. This positions the monitor noticeably below the high-end ProArt models, such as the recently introduced PA27USD, but also makes it accessible to a broader audience.
