Asus ROG Delta S Wireless: Gaming headset with 50 mm drivers and 25 hours runtime

The Asus ROG Delta S Wireless is a new wireless gaming headset with which the manufacturer wants to play at the very top. A dual connection via 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth, 50 mm Asus Essence drivers and extensive compatibility are supposed to ensure this.

The Asus ROG Delta S Wireless in detail

About four years have passed since the original ROG Delta, but even then the stylish gaming headset could convince us in the test. Now, the wireless successor called Asus ROG Delta S Wireless comes with numerous improvements.

Just like back then, it relies on finely tuned, 50 mm Asus Essence drivers that are supposed to offer a balanced sound signature with more depth and texture compared to standard headsets.

The drivers are tilted 12 degrees to direct sound directly into the ear canal for better sound and comfort. In addition, the airtight chamber design provides a more stable, richer sound. Thanks to ROG Hyper-Grounding technology, electromagnetic interference is said to be prevented and purer, noise-free sound is made possible.

Just marketing? Not at all, as we already found out in our review of the Ur-Delta:

The stereo sound could convince in our practical test with its clarity and the very good sound transmission without any deductions. Even demanding gamers can be happy with this headset.

Wireless with two operating modes

As the name suggests, the Asus ROG Delta S Wireless Gaming Headset does not require a cable connection. The headset not only connects to the 2.4 GHz wireless network, but also via Bluetooth. The USB-C 2.4 GHz technology uses the built-in antennas for an almost instantaneous signal transmission with a range of up to 25 meters.

Operation also turns out to be intuitive. A combination of buttons and the robust rocker switch control the headset’s volume, microphone, and on/off. A single press starts or pauses playback, double-tapping skips to the next track. Bluetooth pairing can be triggered by holding the button down for 7 seconds.

Two beamforming microphones with AI noise reduction are used for voice transmission. These create an acoustic zone that covers a 40-degree area in front of the mouth and filters out background noise from other directions.

25 hours of battery life with fast charging

Overall, the built-in battery in the Asus ROG Delta S Wireless is supposed to last for 25 hours. Not an outstanding value, which the manufacturer wants to make up for with a fast charging function. Thus, the headset can be used for up to 3 hours with a 15-minute charge.

The wearing comfort of the 318 gram headphones is also supposed to convince. Not least thanks to ergonomic D-shaped ear pads, which correspond to the shape of the human ear and reduce unnecessary contact areas by up to 20 percent. Two pairs of ear pads are included right out of the box.
