ASUS ROG Fusion II 500: New gaming headset with high-resolution DAC

With the ASUS ROG Fusion II 500, a new gaming headset awaits us that wants to convince with exciting features such as virtual 7.1 surround sound, high-resolution ESS 9280 Quad DAC technology and ASUS AI Beamforming microphones with AI noise cancellation. Sound-wise, the ASUS ROG Fusion II 500 wants to convince with specially developed, dynamic ASUS Essence drivers, which bring it to a diameter of 50 mm. The high frequency range of 20 Hz to 40,000 Hz, as well as an impedance of 32 ohms also promise a lot.

In addition, the Fusion II 500 offers a virtual 7.1 surround sound, as well as the ROG Hyper-Grounding technology for a pure, realistic sound. For this, the headset uses a multi-layer PCB and a special layout to prevent electromagnetic interference and thus produce a sound that is free of noise and interference.

Inside, a high-resolution ESS 9280 Quad DAC is also at work, earning the gaming headset a Hi-Res Audio certification. It convinces with a comparatively high SNR value of 130 dB and offers lossless audio processing, as well as a clear sound.

Compatibility and convenience

With a 3.5mm jack, USB-C and USB Type-A connectivity, the ASUS ROG Fusion II 500 is compatible with a wide range of devices, including laptops and PCs, mobile devices and gaming consoles. In addition, the ergonomic ear cups adjust to the natural angle of the ears to ensure a perfect fit.

The headset weighs just 310 grams and is equipped with two types of ear cushions for different wearing sensations. The ROG Hybrid ear cushions rely on a thick and breathable mesh fabric, while the ROG Protein Leather ear cushions are thinner and softer with better noise isolation.

The ROG Fusion II 500’s game chat volume control lets you adjust the volume of in-game audio and voice chat via the slider on the ear cups. This instant and intuitive control facilitates team-based voice communication to understand tactics more accurately and issue commands more clearly.

The headset features customizable Aura RGB lighting that offers gamers over 16.8 million color combinations and six preset lighting effects via Armoury Crate. This software provides gamers with extensive controls and an intuitive user interface for customizing audio profiles and lighting.

Clear Communication

ASUS AI Beamforming microphones with AI Noise Cancelation provide clear and natural reproduction of human voices with minimal distortion. At the same time, the microphones are integrated into the ear cups, so there is no need for additional equipment.

The Discord- and TeamSpeak-certified microphones create a 40° acoustic zone in front of the player’s mouth, filtering out distracting background noise from other directions for clear voice pickup. In addition, AI noise cancellation identifies and reduces over 500 million types of background noise such as voices, keyboard noise and mouse clicks by up to 95 percent.
