Presented for the first time at CES 2026, the model combines high-end audio technology with the requirements of competitive gaming. The aim is to achieve more precise sound reproduction, realistic spatiality and maximum detail – characteristics that play a central role in fast-paced multiplayer titles as well as in single-player experiences and music playback. At the heart of the ASUS ROG Kithara are large-format 100 mm planar magnet drivers developed in collaboration with audio specialist HIFIMAN. This driver technology is known for its particularly fast response, low distortion and exceptional detail resolution. Compared to classic dynamic drivers, it delivers a much more precise sound image that clearly brings out fine acoustic information. The frequency response of 8 Hz to 55 kHz ensures that both deep bass and the finest highs are reproduced in a differentiated and controlled manner.

A decisive factor for the sound image is the open design of the headset. Instead of a closed resonance chamber, a wide, natural sound stage is created with precise localization of individual sound sources. In games, footsteps, movements or distant actions remain clearly separated from each other, even if several audio effects occur simultaneously. Separate signal paths for the microphone and headphones effectively prevent crosstalk, enabling clear and stable communication even in intense gaming situations. This makes the headset suitable not only for gaming, but also for voice chats, streaming or professional voice recordings.

The ROG Kithara is also flexible when it comes to connectivity. A balanced headphone cable with interchangeable plugs supports 4.4 mm balanced as well as 3.5 mm and 6.3 mm connections. In addition, a USB-C to dual 3.5 mm adapter enables use on PCs, consoles, laptops, DACs, amplifiers and mobile devices. With an impedance of just 16 ohms, the headset remains easy to drive and delivers convincing sound quality even with less powerful sources.
