Asus ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition with Triple-A-Power

The new gaming notebook from Asus comes with triple-A power. CPU, GPU and also the software come from AMD. The Advantage Edition of the ROG Strix is supposed to score especially with decent performance and the gaming ambience.

Triple AMD Power

According to the manufacturer, the new Asus ROG Strix G15 (G513QY) is the first notebook in which the AMD Radeon RX6800M and the AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX processor appear together. The CPU has eight cores, 16 threads and is based on 7 nm technology. AMD’s Smart Shift technology and Smart Access Memory allow the CPU and GPU to work even better together. SmartShift ensures increased performance because the power is dynamically switched between the two depending on the workload. Smart Access, on the other hand, ensures better data transfer between the processor and the graphics card.

For optimal gaming performance, the notebook comes in its best configuration with 32 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM and a 1 TB NVMe SSD storage. The memory can also be expanded via the M.2 slot.

WQHD display and ROG Intelligent Cooling technology

Asus relies on a WQHD panel for the display, which resolves in 2,560 x 1,440 pixels and has a response time of 3 ms. The refresh rate is 165 Hz, of course with AMD FreeSync technology. It synchronizes the refresh rate with the graphics card’s frame rate, which prevents tearing as well as cropped and distorted frames. The ROG Intelligent Cooling technology with its liquid metal system ensures proper cooling of the CPU and GPU. In addition, the Asus ROG Strix G15 features Smart Amp speakers with Dolby Atmos technology, wireless via Wi-Fi 6, and has a good variety of ports, such as HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, USB Type-A port, and a Display Port-enabled USB Type-C port.

Overall, the ROG Strix G15 Advantage comes in at 35.4 x 25.9 x 2.26 ~ 2.72 cm (L x W x H) with a weight of 2.5 kg.

Availability and pricing

The new Asus ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition should be available in the third quarter of this year at a price starting at 1,799 euros.
