ASUS ROG TANDEM-OLED sets new standards in speed and picture quality
With the new ASUS ROG TANDEM OLED models, the manufacturer is underlining its position in the OLED gaming segment. According to TrendForce (Worldwide OLED Monitor Tracker, September 2025), ROG is currently one of the world’s leading brands for OLED gaming monitors in terms of market share – a ranking that is underpinned by the key technical data of the new devices.
Tandem WOLED technology is at the heart of both displays. Compared to previous-generation WOLED panels, it promises 15% higher peak brightness, 25% greater color volume and up to 60% longer lifespan. This is complemented by the TrueBlack Glossy™ coating, which ensures particularly deep blacks and clearly defined contrasts. VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black certification, true 10-bit color depth and a color deviation of Delta E < 2 underline the professional orientation – for gaming as well as for photo and video editing.
Another key feature is ASUS OLED Care Pro with Neo Proximity Sensor. This uses wavelength detection to recognize the distance to the sitting position and automatically fades in a black image as soon as the user moves away. The distance can be individually adjusted up to 1.2 meters. This reduces the risk of burn-in effects and increases panel longevity – a decisive factor for OLED monitors.
ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W: 540 Hz as the new reference
The ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W is positioned by ASUS as the fastest OLED monitor in the world. With a native refresh rate of 540 Hz and a response time of 0.02 ms, the model is clearly aimed at competitive gaming. A hotkey can be used to switch between QHD@540Hz and a 720p@720Hz mode – an unusual but plausible option for e-sports scenarios, where maximum frame rate is prioritized over resolution.
On the connection side, DisplayPort 2.1a (UHBR20, up to 80 Gbit/s), HDMI 2.1 and a tripod mount are available. The design is based on a silver stand and a semi-transparent back, which stands out visually from the classic ROG look.
The ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG completes the portfolio with 280 Hz and 0.03 ms response time. Tandem OLED, DisplayHDR 500 True Black and 99.5% DCI-P3 are also used here. The compact stand is around 30% smaller than previous 27-inch models in the XG series. In terms of connections, the model offers DisplayPort 1.4 (DSC), HDMI 2.1 and an integrated USB hub.
Conclusion
With the Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W and the Strix OLED XG27AQWMG, ASUS is expanding its OLED portfolio with two powerful 1440p monitors with a clear focus on high-end gaming and creative workflows. The 540 Hz version in particular sets new standards in the e-sports sector. Both models are now available in Germany, Austria and Switzerland from specialist retailers and online retailers as well as in the ASUS webshop. The recommended retail prices are in the premium segment and reflect the technical features.
