With the Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 and G14, the manufacturer has introduced two exciting new gaming notebooks that are available now. They rely on current AMD processors and powerful RTX graphics cards. The ultra-bright and innovative dual-spec display including an optimized 14-inch secondary display with touch function ensure an intensive gaming experience as well as a smooth workflow.
Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16: Switch between 4K 120 Hz and FHD 240 Hz
With the ROG Zephyrus Duo 16, users can choose between two display variants: The world’s first dual specs display allows smart switching from 4K 120Hz to FHD 240Hz. Thus, the choice between high resolution and fast refresh rate does not even arise.
In the second variant, the Zephyrus Duo 16 features an ultra-bright mini LED display with 165Hz as well as 1,100 nits of brightness with 512 local dimming zones, a contrast ratio of 100,000:1 and over four million pixels. At the same time, the Nebula HDR panel automatically adjusts to the lighting conditions and circumstances in the environment thanks to AmLED technology.
The screen-to-body ratio is 91 percent, while the display is in a 16:10 form factor. Both models are equipped with a 14-inch AAS Plus 2.0 secondary display with 4K resolution and touch functionality. Together with the ROG Intelligent Cooling system, the AAS Plus 2.0 air intake provides 30 percent more efficient airflow for better GPU and CPU performance.
The hardware equipment inside the Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 is also impressive. There is a choice of an AMD Ryzen 7-6800H or AMD Ryzen 9-6980HX processor along with 32 GB of DDR5 RAM clocked at 4,800 MHz and up to an NVIDIA GeForce 3080 Ti GPU notebook graphics card. The integrated MUX switch also ensures even higher graphics performance.
The 90 Wh battery is said to offer long runtimes and can be recharged in record time. he 100W USB C port achieves 50 percent battery power in 30 minutes. In addition, the ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 is equipped with an IR camera with Windows Hello, as well as six speakers and Dolby Atmos support.
In terms of ports, there’s USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C with DisplayPort, Power Delivery and G-Sync, dual USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, SD card slot, HDMI 2.1, 2.5G Ethernet port, 3.5mm audio combo jack and USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C with DisplayPort support.
The ROG Zephyrus G14: Lightweight and powerful
The second in the bunch goes by the name The ROG Zephyrus G14 and should mark a competent gaming companion on the go thanks to a slim design with the 14-inch display and a weight of just 1.65 kg.
The AniMe Matrix consists of thousands of mini-LEDs that can be customized. The AMD R7-6800HS or AMD Ryzen 9 R9-6900HS processor, the AMD Radeon RX 6700S / 6800S mobile graphics card with MUX switch and Vapor Chamber as well as the liquid metal cooling system ensure strong performance for gaming and multitasking.
The G14 is available in two display variants: The WQXGA panel with a high resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, as well as a brightness of 500 nits and with a WUXGA display with a refresh rate of 144 Hz including AMD Adaptive Sync technology.
Thanks to over ten hours of battery life, a 100W Type-C fast charging feature, and its WiFi 6 connectivity, the G14 delivers plenty of power. There’s also an extra-large touchpad for added convenience, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
