ASUS TUF Gaming AX5400 router announced

ASUS has announced a new gaming router. The TUF Gaming AX5400 is a powerful WiFi 6 router designed to deliver the best possible wired and wireless performance even in busy environments.

Strong Features of the ASUS TUF Gaming AX5400

With six antennas and WiFi 6 support, the ASUS TUF Gaming AX5400 is said to provide fast connections. It achieves a combined total bandwidth of up to 5400 Mbps and offers up to 80% greater signal coverage compared to previous generations.

Thanks to WiFi 6, it enables up to 4x increase in network capacity and is said to provide better connection quality even for devices in the most remote corners of the house. OFDMA technology is used for this purpose, which allows for a higher signal range compared to WiFi 5.

A 4×4 MU-MIMO configuration and separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz antennas are supposed to reduce possible interference. AiMesh is also supported, so it can be used in a whole-home mesh WiFi system in conjunction with other AiMesh-compatible ASUS routers.

Thanks to Link Aggregation, two Gigabit Ethernet ports can also be virtually connected together, enabling wired Ethernet speeds of up to 2 Gbps for Internet connectivity and wired network devices.

Dedicated Gaming Modes

A core target audience of the ASUS TUF Gaming AX5400 is gamers, so the router features three dedicated gaming modes for PC, console and mobile gaming. Connected devices on the gaming port can be prioritized, while Open NAT enables simple three-level port forwarding.

This prioritization can be done with just one tap in the ASUS Router App. For home office use, QoS enables prioritization of activities such as conference calls, while ASUS AiProtection Pro provides enterprise-grade security for all connected devices. ASUS has also thought about home schooling and included parental controls to conveniently manage Internet usage.

The TUF Gaming AX5400 relies on a rugged, durable design.  Vents on the bottom, sides, and top are said to increase airflow, while the dual aluminum heatsink design improves cooling performance for greater stability even under heavy workloads.
