ASUS ZenWiFi Pro XT12: New Tri-Band WiFi 6 Mesh Router unveiled

With the ASUS ZenWiFi Pro XT12, we have a new WiFi 6-enabled mesh system for seamless and blazing-fast home network coverage. Speeds of up to 11,000 Mbps are achieved, while RangeBoost Plus technology enables 38 percent greater coverage.

ASUS ZenWiFi Pro XT12 in Detail

ASUS is expanding its router lineup with the ZenWiFi Pro XT12, a Wi-Fi 6-capable mesh system that features a Broadcom WiFi chip and a 2.0 GHz 64-bit CPU for faster network transmissions. Thanks to Wi-Fi 6, the ASUS ZenWiFi Pro XT12 realizes performance up to 11,000 Mbps for ultra-fast networks.

In addition, backhaul benefits from the new standard by not occupying frequencies needed for fast connectivity due to the tri-band configuration. Unlike dual-band mesh systems, which halve the bandwidth available to devices due to the need for a backhaul link, the XT12 allows users to use one of the 5 GHz bands as a dedicated backhaul link, enabling faster and more stable traffic between hubs without slowing down connected devices.

On demand, this is done by automatically selecting the best connection and allows up to 4x the speeds of WiFi 5 by supporting ODMA and MU-MIMO.

550 m² covered

For an especially high coverage with a Wi-Fi signal, the latest version of RangeBoost Plus technology provides, among other things, 38 percent more coverage and comes up with other technical improvements. For example, the ZenWiFi Pro XT12 alone is said to be able to cover an area of up to 550 m², which can be expanded with any additional ASUS AiMesh systems.

Wired router-to-client fronthaul and router-to-node backhaul connections reach full performance thanks to the 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port. This enables ultra-fast connections to bandwidth-intensive devices such as NAS devices. The router features 256 MB of internal flash memory and 1 GB of RAM. Two 2.5 Gbps ports and two RJ45 10/100/1000 Mbps are available.

Price and Availability

The ASUS ZenWiFi Pro XT12 WI-FI-6 router is available now at an MSRP of 509.95 euros or as a set of two routers for 859.95 euros in stores.
