Audio-Technica ATH-TWX9: New in-ear headphones unveiled

Hi-fi expert Audio-Technica has unveiled a new, high-quality true-wireless in-ear headphones. The Audio-Technica ATH-TWX9 are said to offer rich sound, hybrid noise-canceling technology, Deep UV sterilization and 360 Reality Audio.

The Audio-Technica ATH-TWX9 is a high-quality new true-wireless in-ear headphone that comes with some exciting new features. So after showing the popular ATH-M50x in a new design at IFA 2022, it’s the turn of in-ears again.

The ATH-TWX9 combines innovative acoustic technologies with a particularly pleasant wearing comfort and practical controls to create an intimate sound space. Thanks to their high resolution, the newly developed 5.8 mm drivers offer an extended high-frequency range and a finer transmission of tonal nuances.

Technologies such as Snapdragon Sound, Qualcomm aptX Adaptive and Sony 360 Reality Audio are offered. A particularly high frequency band from 10 Hz to 40,000 Hz is covered at 16 ohms impedance. A maximum of Hi-Res sound at 96 kHz and 24 bits is possible. In addition, the ATH-TWX9 are splash-proof according to IP4.

Five ANC modes and UV sterilization

Furthermore, the Audio-Technica ATH-TWX9 wait with a hybrid ANC, the active noise cancellation can also be adjusted in five stages. A transparency mode is of course also available.

These non-slip, compact and ergonomic headphones are designed for a secure and comfortable fit. A full 12 comfortable ear-tip designs for different fits (4 diameters, 3 stem lengths) are included with the headphones.

In addition, the in-ears feature a Deep UV sterilization system in the charging cradle (with unique mirror processing). It is supposed to eliminate bacteria and viruses on the surface of the earbuds.

The battery life is also impressive. Up to 6 hours of playback are possible with the headphones, and an extended usage time of up to 18.5 hours is also promised, according to the manufacturer. Whether this is the capacity of the charging case is unclear.

Charging is via USB Type-C and takes 2.5 hours for the headphones or 3.5 hours for the charging case. Wireless charging is also possible within about five hours. In addition, the ATH-TWX9 support single-sided use in mono mode and Bluetooth multipoint for connecting to two audio sources simultaneously.
