AVM brings many new features with FRITZ!OS 7.50

AVM fans take note. The German expert for network devices has prepared a major firmware update for its customers in the form of FRITZ!OS 7.50. With the help of an update, it should be possible to expand the range of functions of the free FRITZ!Apps in particular. Users of the MyFRITZ!App for tablet and smartphone will not only benefit from a brand-new overview of the mesh devices.

AVM provides more overview

Just a few days ago, AVM announced its first FRITZ!Box with WiFi 7. Now, new software also follows as revealed in the official press release from the networking expert. In the latest version of the MyFRITZ!APP, one is supposed to recognize all devices that are in the home network at first glance. That is to provide above all for one: More overview. On top of that, the individual devices can now also be named. So you no longer have to worry about not being able to distinguish between the network devices. The option to prioritize exclusive devices also sounds particularly good. These will then be given preferential treatment when there is a large rush to access the Internet. Furthermore, it should be possible to set certain scenarios via the FRITZ!App Smart Home from now on. It is not only the app offering that has improved.

The manufacturer’s products should also benefit from the update to FRITZ!OS 7.50. According to AVM, there are more than 150 new features. By the way, there should also be a better overview in the mesh area. In the new version, AVM wants to be able to display which FRITZ!Box or FRITZ!Repeater network devices are currently logged in. In addition, it should be possible to see how good the WLAN reception of the device is at the moment. By the way, owners of an iPhone should be able to benefit from more user features. In the new version, it will also be possible to set up mobile access to the FRITZ!Box. A corresponding wizard for quick setup is to be found in the app specifically for this purpose. Control freaks who want to check the current status of their home network from anywhere will certainly be happy about this.

A reception committee thanks to scenarios

It’s finally the end of the day. Then when you get home, FRITZ!OS 7.50 wants to make sure you get a proper reception. This is where so-called scenarios come into play. Here you can set, for example, what temperature the AVM thermostat should have, what lighting mood your AVM lamps such as the AVM FRITZ!DECT 500 (test) should create, and and and. Such and other behaviors of your smart AVM devices you can set via the user interface of the FRITZ!App Smart Home from now on. In contrast to “coming home”, the scenario “leaving the house” can also be defined.
