AVM FRITZ!Box 4060: Triband WLAN router with Wi-Fi 6 and DECT released

With the FRITZ!Box 4060, AVM is launching the first tri-band WLAN router for Wi-Fi 6 on the market. Thanks to Wi-Fi 6, AVM’s latest mesh WLAN technology, as well as three radio units and a total of 12 antennas, WLAN data rates of up to 6 GBit/s can be achieved.

Operating on three bands, the FRITZ!Box 4060 gets the most out of smartphones and other mobile devices. As the first model in the FRITZ!Box 40 series, the FRITZ!Box 4060 also supports DECT, making it a WLAN router that also serves as the basis for VoIP telephony.

Smart Home products from FRITZ! or other manufacturers can now be connected directly to the WLAN router via the DECT ULE standard. The FRITZ!Box 4060 in the new white, upright design also makes significant gains in terms of performance.

“In the VPN and USB area, the gigabit limit can be significantly exceeded,” the manufacturer states. Especially in the home office, the VPN throughput achieved with this should deliver a noticeable advantage.

The USB speeds are already comparable with dedicated NAS systems. In addition to a USB 3.0 port, the FRITZ!Box 4060 is equipped with a 2.5 Gigabit WAN port and three additional Gigabit LAN ports, which can be used to integrate a wide variety of devices such as storage media, printers, smart TVs or game consoles into the home network.

Other features include those typical of FRITZ!Box, such as extensive parental controls, a media server for pictures, music and videos, as well as WLAN guest access and remote access via MyFRITZ!
