AVM FRITZ!Box 7510: New entry-level DSL model for the home network with Wi-Fi 6

Manufacturer AVM has introduced the new FRITZ!Box 7510. The inexpensive router is aimed at DSL users as an entry-level model and offers fast WLAN connections thanks to the Wi-Fi 6 standard.

The features of the FRITZ!Box 7510 from AVM

With the FRITZ!Box 7510, AVM introduces an entry-level model for DSL connections that supports the new Wi-Fi 6 WLAN standard. Thanks to supervectoring, the FRITZ!Box 7510 enables speeds of up to 300 Mbps on the connection.

The new Wi-Fi 6 improves the long-range 2.4 GHz band enormously, enabling the FRITZ!Box 7510 to transmit data at up to 600 Mbps. Wi-Fi 6 benefits not only WLAN devices such as smartphones or notebooks that already use the new standard, but also many other products that transmit in an older WLAN generation.

However, the FRITZ!Box 7510 does not operate in the 5 GHz or 6 GHz network. The manufacturer only uses the 2.4 GHz range, which is why the maximum speed is only 600 MBit/s despite the ax standard. At least there is a LAN port with Gigabit speed. There is also a USB 2.0 port, e.g. for printers or storage (NAS).

WLAN mesh and high compatibility

More efficient utilization of WLAN channels allows even more devices to be integrated into the home network at the same time using Wi-Fi 6. WLAN Mesh is also included with the 7510, so you can seamlessly expand your home WLAN and network even large homes at the touch of a button. All FRITZ!Repeaters, such as the new FRITZ!Repeater 1200 AX, and FRITZ!Powerline WLAN models are compatible with the new FRITZ!Box.

A complete telephone system (All-IP) including analog connection and DECT base is also integrated. The telephone convenience of the FRITZ!Box 7510 includes securely encrypted HD telephony, integrated answering machines, and the PBX function with support for up to 20 phone numbers. In addition to cordless phones, smart home devices such as FRITZ!DECT products can also be integrated into the network via the DECT base.

In addition, all the functions of the FRITZ!OS interface are offered. These include, for example, parental controls, WLAN guest access, media server, firewall, automatic updates, and much more. With strong performance at the connection and in the home network, the FRITZ!Box operates very energy-efficiently with only 6 watts in standby.
